the last one was just a fitting of the door, it still needs to get ripped along the top and leveled out since stock doors taper down to the front fender

I don't think I ever realized the top part of the door had a taper in it.  That picture sure makes it obvious though.

almost got the whole door hinge section done, just a little more patch work and then grind it down

a little door work

Very nice... You end up using the 110 welder?  Looks like you are having an easier time getting buildup on your welds.  My 220 wants to blow through that thin sheetmetal no matter how i set it.

I started with the 110 and it was working great until i ran out of wire for it, then I started to use the 220 just to see if I could get something done with it and it has been doing well so far. It still blows through the thin stuff, but the metal on the door jams and floor are a little thicker than the rest of the stuff on the cab so I haven't had too much trouble. I still get some sections that just disintegrate on me even though everything i've welded on it has been all tack welds...tons of tack welds

Very nice Talon.  That's what I thought needed to happen with those doors.

I couldn't agree more, i'd like to share what I love to do with more friends and family than just one other than me. And having something different then most around here is cool too. I like how clean and factory looking your 4 door has come out, very nice job. And thanks, I agree the sheet welding sucks.

Somthing that will make welding the sheet metal easier is using a block of brass behind the weld area the weld wont stick to the brass and you have somthg solid to build a weld pool on. I use mole board shims off a motor grader good quality brass and cheep or free if you can gre some used ones.

Just got back from Calico monday morning and started stripping the truck down

with the bed off and doing some quick measuring, the tank will be moved back 3"

Also thinking about a partial exo instead of an interior cage
