Alright guys well after selling my 97 4runner (big mistake :slap:) i decided it was time for another one. So i kept my eyes out and found a 91 4runner that was already completely ready for a SAS. So i figured why not? I am going to take my time and make this runner into the runner that I want it to be. So the 4runner came with all the ifs already cut off and no engine... they took the engine out to do the sas (why? i dont know.) and it got given away to the owners brother luckily i found the same engine with pretty much everything i need for around $250, and when i purchased the 4runner it even came with an 83 axle...so this project entails a lot of work, a complete solid axle swap, putting the engine and tranny back in and redoing the entire interior as well! Now when it comes to mechanical know how i dont know as much as others but i am willing to take my time and learn how to do everything as i go along. I plan on taking my time on this build and doing as much as i can with the $ that is available to me, thats why i plan to take my time and do it right ..... My camera died so i cant upload the pictures yet but i will post tomorrow and any advice/encouragement or questions will be welcomed. Thanks guys :turtle:

Well as it turns out the morning that I want to go out and do work on the runner i get called in to work :smack: but as promised i ran outside before work and snapped a few more pictures of the car....let me know if theres something else you guys would want to see.

Below are pictures of the interior a little dirty but the plans are to just do a spray on bed liner on the inside so i plan to tear out the carpet

and does anyone know if i can turn this into onboard air??? dont know if its possible but let me know...its the air for the back seat.

the axle torn apart...this is what i was going to clean up today...should i get a knuckle rebuild kit?? just to be safe?

Alright guys quick question... is it a bad idea to do shackle tubes all the way around instead of doing hanger mounts that weld under the frame? I know ill have to do a front hanger kit but why not do shackle tubes that go all the way through the middle of the frame all the way around?

Doesnt make sense, and wont work... you cant run shackles on the rear of the spring and the front of the spring..... think about it.

GONZO97

i think what i meant is can you do it on the rear of the back springs... or is it cheaper to just weld the hanger mounts underneath...i understand you cant run shackles on front and rear but from where you would run shackles would it be stronger to do shackle tubes through the middle of the frame instead of welding it underneath?
