If its not completly burned in, get it out and plate it in with 1/4" plate like what i did
SaS'd Dual ultimate crawler w/5.29s Aussie front/detriot Rear, 35's Mtr's with kevlar

LilGonzo86

if we use the torch and just recut it out.... im pretty sure we can just plate it after......wont be easy but its worth a try :therethere:

86bobbedtoy

I made one of mine a little off, and just filled it with weld, no biggie
I do plan on plating the bottom of the frame there tho

Its all completely burned in but the angle is off a decent amount im definitely going to have to chop it out and then plate it in order to make it strong enough....but this time im going to make sure it is perfectly straight i have no idea how it is that off since i used the jigs but oh well i guess you learn from your mistakes and ill make sure it gets done properly this time. I need to start doing my research on how to rebuild a front axle properly since ive never done it before i want to make sure i do it right...any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

i rebuilt my front 44 for the first time by using online resources only. there is a lot of info out there for toy axles and from what i hear they're easier to rebuild than domestic axles. should be fine.

Ive already looked up a few good threads and rebuild instructions... i would just feel a lot better if my cousin would be there.... my cousin... being 82juguete... but of course he is at cal poly and when he does come down hes usually busy so looks like the first time will have to be done alone...

Nice build man, way to keep at it. Rebuilding the axle is cake once youve done it the first time. best advice for that is take your time, use lots of grease, and make sure you get the seals and such in the right order on the inside portion of the knuckles. Also make sure to get all the studs tight.

82juguete

Ill post for you....  We ran into some weird issues today, and ive never had problems like this in the 2 or 3 axles ive rebuilt.  Then again, ive never used the big vented rotors so theyd work with later model calipers, so....
Anyway, did everything like usual and once i got the spindle, backing plate, etc on and seated the new races in the rotor, greased up the bearings and put it on, theres barely enough threads on the spindle to get both spindle nuts on.... i remember having a lot more threads on previous rebuilds.  We did torque it to 43 to seat everything, backed it off ,blah blah blah...

well we went with that, since technically we got the lock nut to barely snug up.... get out to the hub assembly and now the axle shaft cant pull out enough to get the snap ring on... so somethings gotta be off causing a clearance issue in 2 separate places....just cant figure out what it is.

Thanks nico was just about to post... any ideas ???

and just for the record the problem that we had earlier actually turned out to be the oil seal not seating properly once we took it apart again and made sure it seated properly everything went together flawlessly!
