HELLLLLLO CRAWLER LAND!

We are thrilled to announce that after more than 20 years of service, our forum has received a complete overhaul!

This has been an enormous undertaking — months of migration work. We've gone from an aging system that served us faithfully since the early 2000s, to a fully modern, mobile-friendly, and secure platform designed to carry us through the next decade and beyond.

What's New:

• Brand-new responsive design (finally mobile-friendly!)
• Enhanced security and performance
• Redis caching for blazing-fast load times
• Cleaner navigation and fresh layout
• Better search and improved usability
• Up-to-date platform ensures future updates and features

Still to come:

• Karma system restoration
• Forum badges and custom profile fields
• Cleanup of old mods and files
• Additional optimizations

Please note:
I have not had much seat time with the new forum up and running just yet. Please be patient as we fix hiccups and settle into the new environment. Also, I'll be doing some theme tweaks to make it feel more like home, but note we won't be bringing back the entire old theme which was not mobile-first. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we fine-tune everything!

Yes, I plan to bring that back. Also will be working on a more interactive landing page that focuses on new content to help promote and encourage participating in threads.

I miss the Magic Turtles and will see about bringing them back, but it'll be a while lol

The Karma system changed in the updated forum so I am working on writing a script to import our old saved +/- numbers and get those here.

Lastly, I'd like to say that ever since I've owned a computer I've been a strong proponent of supporting open source projects like this SMF forum software. Getting the database modernized was the most difficult part of this transition, but now we finally have a base level of data that is more easily transferrable should we decided to move away from SMF. I really like the XenForo forum software that IH8MUD and others run, so my goal is to bring many of those modern features here, and if that becomes impossible, then we may consider moving to a paid commercial system.
