It's a hard call sometimes believe i've made it several times spent more than i had to sometimes saved others. But if ur tranny is shot go 5 speed those trannys dont hold up 4lane kills them

GONZO97

thats what im thinking of doing is there any way to check my transmission? like by taking it to a transmission shop or something? because if my tranny is good then i think ill just have the 3.0 that i have rebuilt and start our like that but i havent made up my mind yet

Well heres what looks like is going to happen... i talked to a mechanic friend of ours who rebuilt two of our toyota engines already and he said it would probably be best to have the engine rebuilt due to play on one of the pistons.... so he gave me a few numbers to call around and get quotes on a long block rebuild well the lowest price i found was 2200 .... so i called randy being our mechanic friend and asked him what he though he said let me call around and see if i can find you a rebuilt one for less... he came through and found one for 1500. said we could have it built up and ready to go in about 2-3 hours and then drop it in.... so i just about have enough money saved up and then pretty soon here itll be ready to get dropped in!

Dingman.

I had to run a 2" block for mine to sit level in the back with the chevies..

Are you gonna leave it like that or try to level it out more?

GONZO97

itll level out as soon as i drop the engine and the tranny in.... its still just an empty body right now a couple more pay checks and then the engine will be coming around

GONZO97

yeah if it doesnt level out enough i do have some blocks from an old build but i have a feeling that itll level out perfectly... if anything the rear will be higher than the front... which isnt terribly bad but it really depends on how severe it is... im itching to drop the engine in so i can see how it turns out im getting impatient :maddest:

I would have it vortex lined. If you know someone it can be done pretty inexpensively. I want to say it would cost about 250 and it will last forever, that's just my two scents.
