I've heard to use dry ice and an air chisel, although I've never tried it.

Thanks for the advice guys, I chipped the big pieces off with a hammer and screwdriver, and got the rest off with a wire wheel.

Here are some updated pics:

i might have missed it, but are you planing to keep windows in the back doors? in the photoshopped pictures it seems like you'd only be able to roll it down 3-4"....

yeah that's something i'm going to have to work out, the photoshop is a little off, but they will not be able to roll all the way down i don't think. They'll get tube doors for summer so i'm not too worried about it

Once you get the body mounts done, I would bob the front of your bed and use the leftover fender area parts to graft onto the body for some clean factory looking lines.  Just my  :twocents:

Looks good!  I don't think I realized you were going to use the rear half of the 4runner for the bed.  I guess I thought you would use your original bed, but that would be a double bob wouldn't it?   :headscratch:  Looks like the wheel wells don't protrude up into the bed as far on the 4runner either - which should be an advantage for your setup.

Are you going to build another tiregate for this one?

I wanted to use as much of the 4runner as I could and have done well so far, the only thing left of it is the firewall. I can sell a bobbed bed easier than I can get rid of a chopped up runner. It will get another spare carrier, and one that will work with the 4runner mounts which I think some would like to see. It will be set much lower than my last one, as I don't see any need for me to need to flip it around with this set up. That and i'll actually get around to skinning this one which i'm curious to see how that turns out.
