:yesnod: Now I need to buy a 60" highlift cause the 48" gets maxed out!

That is wicked looking, maybe you could limit the piviot by putting a small bumpstop on the outside edge of the platform. You could bolt it to the outboard ubolt nuts.

I'd rather move the tire out than limit the pivot, If it wants to flex that much i'll let it, just need to change something.

I now have had a vision, one of these days someone is going to have a truck with so much flex that when it rolls on its side all 4 wheels will still be on the ground.

Just think, if one were to use the piviot lift block, Jonny Joint pivot shackle mount & some AOR Orbit Eye Springs a kick stand might be required  :smack:

From what I can see you are going to have some side to side play in the rear. You could go back to a standard shackle or use a panard bar to keep the rear from moving from side to side.

I"ll find out on the test drive. There will be a lot of things to tweak on that day.

Willy Mammoth

Yea, I know how that goes. That may be why the tires hit the frame so bad cause the springs twist and bend and let the rear move toward the frame.  :headscratch:  :dunno:

That is kinda the whole point of the JJ shackle though is to allow side to side movement.
I've driven it on the road at 55mph with no death wobble with the JJ shackles on.
I know those are fine.
What I'm not sure about is how the two will react together. :dunno:

I didn't realize that you had JJ shackles...I was just kidding  :yikes:

Do you have AOR springs on order too?

Hey Mini, because I am too lazy to look to see if you posted a picture of it, do you know how tall the pivot blocks are? I will be using them on the back of my truck this summer, so I need to figure out how much I'll need to lower the rear suspension to keep the truck level

Thanks
Mike

MiniSimp, does Dave's Offroad Outlet have a Web page, or is there a place on line to order the hinges?  ???

I also expect you to put a good whooping on them to determine their strength

You might consider welding the pieces together.  :gap:

Why did you make the base plate so angular?  I have seen other braces (i.e. steering box frame brace) using a similar design, so there must be a reason.  Rounded corner result is much less stress in the welds.  Tight transitions/corners induce stress concentrations.

It is angular so the frame has less of a chance of tearing, it's not likely to happen, but what the hell.

Hey MS,  I noticed back on page 7, 8, and 9 you had some problems with the tie rod hitting the leafs, how did you solve that?
I am running rears up front with a five leaf pack and just ordered the Billet Hi Steer arms, so I will most likley have the same problem.

They were hitting the leafs because of the degree shims I had under the pack. After I removed them, no problem.
