Willy Mammoth

 Well it was our first official outing. We went to the Willy's reunion and it was a complete success even though it rained and we didn't get to go on the group ride. We had fun looking at all the Willy's and meeting all the owners. We were the only ones out there with a 48 CJ3A, but there was a good mix of models. It was a great time an look forward to doing it again next year.

We wound up driving 40+ miles home in the rain with no top or rain suits, what a ride.

Very nice! I used to wheel all over southern Oregon in the 70's with a guy who owned an old wagon when I had the FJ40. Good times. Your truck looks great

What a ride indeed!! It was COLD it was WET we were SOAKED TO THE BONES and we were LAUGHING OUR BUTTS OFF!!  :disturbed:

What a great time. Great people, great vehicles, great food!  :chew:

They had a big BBQ smoker going with chicken, venison, hot dogs, and BBQ pork and beef (the beef and pork came from one couples farm raised animals and the venison was bagged by the same couple!) It was a great time and even though it was raining they had a covered pavilion reserved so they moved the smoker under there and we all ate and got to know each other. A great bunch of people!

Now I can't wait for our first official REAL outing ....offroad!  :driving:

Maybe tomorrow  :crossed:

We put like 120 miles on it today and I must say that it is doing all it can do to 62 mph down hill with a tail wind and 50 up hill. But has lots O torque in the sand and at slow speed.

Time for a turbo. :gap:

These are some awesome pics!  A very nice variety of Jeeps. 8)
Thank you very much M & M Willy for letting us all be part of the Mammoth build.  Not many people would go through all the effort to keep us all informed.  It was educational and entertaining at the same time.  I'm sure it also motivated some also.  I am on the edge of my chair to see what Adventures await the Mammoth.  Thanks. :bolt:

Turbo that sumbitch!  What are you thinking of using for a turbo?  Gonna fab your own manifold?  You could use a turbo off of a turbo eclipse/talon for cheap, a CT-26 off of a Supra for cheap, or go big and strap a TO4E on it  :eyebrow:   I'd guess you probably can't run much more than 10 psi on that engine anyway, so a CT-26 might be a decent choice...

Plans for intercooling?
