that heat sink idea might work if you drove around town in 4wd.

And if you bust a rear u-joint or driveline and you have to drive around town in front wheel drive.  You would want all that grease in there to help with the heat.

MiniSimp

Well, There goes the "Budget"

I just ordered a MC08-R10 adapter!!!!!!!
I figure there's some things you have to do right the first time.

Hyena

You gotta be kidding me.  I hate you, you know that?

Here are the pics of my welded 3rd.
The spiders were welded together, then ground down to accomidate the 1/4" piece of steel to connect the spiders together.

The welder used was a Miller 225 Thunderbolt
Here is the specs on the rod available from Karr Products:
Bowman Weld
Tensile Strength - 128,000psi (Hardens to 180,000psi)
Yield Strength - 99,500psi
Hardness - 250 Brinell
Corrosion Resistance - Better than most stainless steels
Specific Applications - Armor Plating, Bucket Teeth, Crusher Rolls, Earth Moving Equipment, Pulverizing Hammers, Tool Steel
Sounds like some bad ass rod
2008 Tacoma regular cab, 4.88s, ARBs, crawl box, manual shift FJ case

Wow, that's a hard question,..... I'm hoping to have it done by late October, early November.
I only get to work on it on the weekends, so that kinda slows me down.

Bust ass and you could be done in under two weeks. Plus you don't have to do all those things before you wheel. do it in phases.  look at my build up I just did. that was 5 days start to finish and that was just about as much stuff as you have left to do.

Yea, I'm not that fast.
It's the cleaning that kills me, for some reason I have to clean everything I'm fixing.
Besides, I'm not even coming close to going on a trail until it is 100% ready.

I'v heard that before. I still don't have my gauges hooked up and my brake / fuel lines are still tie straped to the frame.

You gota test it out before it's done, it's just not right if you wait till it is all done. :gap:
