 :hyper:

I picked up some pipe and elbows today and made up the intake pipes.

All that is lacking is the oil return line and to put the crankcase breather back in the side of the block.

Then it's  :burnout: :woohoo:

Well, I got the oil return line done and fired this bad boy up.

It sounds quiet compaired to what it did before. I didn't run it long cause it is late and the garage was closed up. Had to open the door to air it out. Cough cough hack hack.

I did find out the turbo seems tight and only turns once you rev the engine up past idle. It may be gummed up from sitting, it may also be kinda big for this engine.

I have to install the boost gauge and finish up the piping tomorrow, then we can go for a test drive and see what happens.

Turbos are NEVER too big on a diesel, you might be a little short on fuel but that can always be changed.

From the start it is blowing 8 psi without adjusting the wastegate. I want to turn it up to around 10 -15 psi and tune the injection pump so it don't smoke so bad.

I notice the exhaust is quiet enough you can talk without yelling now and you can hear the turbo spool up like a big rig.

This is way cool. It gets out of it's own way now without having to run the crap out of it.  :horseride:

Time to put the 5.29's back in.  :woohoo:

I know weedeater is going to be on the lookout for us!  :eye:
This is SO GREAT. It feels like it's doing something, and I love how much quieter it is. We might actually get use out of the radio for a change! Now we need XM in the Mammoth too!

Lost of noisy and not much of an inprovment. No low end power in high gear.

Now we can load it up in high gear and it still pulls you up to speed without having to wind it up in every gear.

When I had my turbo 4Runner I used to like the lag offroad, just enough to keep you from spinnin your wheels unless you needed it. Wind that baby up though and hold on.

Yea, I think it comes on at a good rpm and when it starts to build boost you have to let off the gas or it will take off and you find your self wanting to floor it cause it feel so good.
