So im having a bit of a conflict. I really want to link the front. But on the other hand i really want to go back to basics and run leafs. Mostly because i want to street the truck. Ive always liked leafs i figure id run a 3rd gen / 2nd gen ruf pack to get the length i want/need/like. So what say you guys?  Im really leaning twoards leafs

86bobbedtoy

I say go leafs, there simple, cheap
I always liked 2nd 4x4 gen rears, with the packs doubled.
there 3 stock so make them 6 by using 4 packs.
or use the top stock leaf and add some f150s in the mix
f150s are really thin for coming from a full size.
heck add some waggys, pNp has a couple there

86bobbedtoy

I wish I would have went with leafs on my dodge, still kickin myself

86bobbedtoy

also alot of people are starting to run that weird ford style front link
where its 1 solid link
at the axle end it wraps around the axle with rubber in between
and at the frame the link is just a rod through a hole with rubbers on both sides like a sway bar, but huge

u still with me on the ford link deal?
I dont explain things very well.

IronClad

Ya im with ya. Thats just the standard radius arm setup. It works ok but it has a weird unloading issue on climbs that i dont want. I think im going to order the sky fullwidth kit tonight because i dont feel like making all the bs lol. Still tryingnto 100% decide though

Alright just orderd the sky fullwidth kit. So going to run RUF, somewhere around a 7 leaf pack. Id like to get ahold of some 3rd gen rears for my main leafs as i prefer those especially with fullwidth. Im kind of excited to run leafs up front again to be honest.. i was getting so bent out of shape with my 3link i had that i was ready to just leaf it on the last truck. On the other hand no axle wrap and not needing a long slip driveline was pretty nice.

I put 3rd gen ruf. They flex pretty good, still need to test them properly but they are longer than 2nd gen rears soooo..... Better? :dunno:
