Not really anything to report.. Ive been working my richard to the bone lately and havent had any time to do anything on it.. I got it back in the garage sunday and yesterday was my birthday so i did nothing lol.. but i played around on it today and got all my brakes done, Just have to bleed them.

Also did a little somthing to my 14bolt diff cover. since i just have a stock cover thats been plated with 1/4 and it has no fill hole, and the one in the side of the housing is a serrious pain in the ass i decided to put a 1" pipe plug in the top of the cover to fill the damn thing.




also motor in and mostly wired


Ordering 42x15x15 pitbull rockers by mid next month

So mostly what i have left to do is...

Finish wiring motor
Mount gastank and run lines
Mount battery and run cables
Mount rear shocks
Put on hydro assist ( just have to weld tabs and get new hydro lines made)
Get drivelines built + buy toyota dana 60 flange
Mount headlights/tail lights
Finish up tcase crossmember
Fill everyyttthhhiinngg with oil
Change the windshield

and probably 100 little things im not thinking of

been having problems with trying to get my hydro assist lines routed with leaf springs and other BS.. got it under control finally and i also built a new tierod.. 2" .250 wall DOM  and 3/4" hiems



and the tabs for the ram 1"x2" flatbar



Got the motor all wired up aswell. i hope to fire it this weekend.. i feel its fairly realistic lol

It's gonna be a tight fit, if it does go in without some massaging. I'd be interested to see how you're ram is/will be mounted also.

Got the steering done. the 2" juuuusssttttttt kisses the diff cover at full lock so i might tap the cover with a hammer






Also started mocking up my skidplate.. using my old one just for the main mount on the underside im going to make some new arms to mount to the frame



And how much i have hanging down with it jacked pretty much up and touching the body

 

Im fairly happy with how that will sit. i dont feel like totally cutting my tranny tunnel up for not a giant gain.

Alright so i got the exhaust done  Now its pretty much front shaft ( i'll see you this week for a flange mike)  and other misc little stuff.. My main issue right now is that the day i went to get the exhaust done the truck decided to develop a stumble at low rpm. basically off idle till just below 3k.   Its an 88 22re setup ( harness and int harness is 88 aswell)  So far ive gone over every vacuum line, Put new plugs, wires, cap and rotor on. Gone over all the wire connections i can get to. changed all my fuses and relays and tried a different ecu. I havent dove into the TPS yet as it was running fine the day before but that is an option.  Anyone have any ideas?

Had the same problem a few weeks ago which caused me to fail emissions. Like you I did a simple tune up with plugs, cap, rotor, wires. Turned out I had a lower intake manifold gasket leak (the one between the block and lower half of the intake) that caused a lean miss at low rpm. Worth a try. Shoot some carb cleaner down there and see.

I'll take a look at that aswell. Ive noticed that it seems to be a hair better when the engone is warm also

88 is a standalone yr, pain in the ass to diagnose anything. I have spare 88 everything just to allow me to diagnose my runner when something goes wrong. Was the ecu you tried from a 88 also?

Alright so ive tried a different MAF and no difference, unplugged the TPS and it didnt run any different ( usually if tps is bad it the truck will run better if unplugged)  Checked again for any more vacuum leaks. So right now im at my o2 being in the wrong spot.. i noticed that they stuck it behind the cat instead of infront of it where its suposed to be. Soooo tomorrow im going to go get a bung and move it and see where im at.

Im leaning more twoards this problem as it didnt arise untill i drove the truck off the trailer and across the street to the exhaust shop without the o2 plugged in or any exhaust at all except for the downpipe. I just didnt think much of it since it didnt want to run as i chalked it up to no o2.  Could the o2 being behind the cat cause this problem ? The way i look at it is that its sending a wrong reading to the ECU .
