I seem to have broken something insode the seat which caused it to permanently recline...it is supposed to be a rigid back seat.  Redneck fix, and yes, I set the seat on fire.

I love the buildup Cteng... I just came over frome pirate and saw this thread.... I have to ask, does any one know of the company that did the origional conversion on the van? I would eventually like to get a towrig like this one.... I love it!!!

Aztecwrestler

Thread hijack i ushered in page 8!!! end Thread hijack... I'm just brainstorming here... but what do you think it would take to stuff a 12 valve Cummins and  a 5 speed Allison like from a Duramax  in there?

CTENG in KS

I have been looking through stuff to try and find the conversion company, but nothing so far.  I have been thinking that if I keep it long term a diesel swap could be in the future.

Tractor Supply has a nice sale on a trailer ball kit...get the mount, 2inch ball, and locking pin for $27.
We are going to get the trailer tomorrow...the beast is excited to tow something.  Pics to follow!

Well it matches the beast, maybe a little more rusty but that's ok.

I would make sure that sleeve works properly, if it don't it may pop open and get real ugly for you. I think those are the best when they are working properly, but I notice that it is taped for some reason?

It is jacked up in the front in that picture...when it is hooked up to the beast it sit just about perfectly level.  Do I want it to ramp up towards the truck?  That seems dangerous if the hitch were to fail.

You want it to be level with a load on it. My trailer points up towards the truck when empty, but with a load on it, it sits perfectly level.

Your tow rig is AWESOME! There are a few of those conversion vans in town, but I have never seen them driving. Keep up the nice work!

as long as the sleeve isnt damaged  and  stays forward   its not coming off,  i used to have a trailer with that style  hitch  and  it was spring loaded  pushed forward,  actually  kinda hard  to get it to open, which was a good thing

1.5 gpm?

The bulldog coupler werks perfectly. The tape is there holding the wire loom in place.  I will do something about that sometime.  The sleeve still has plenty of spring, it has a tab that pushed down locking the sleeve into place and a pin that goes through the tab to lock that in the closed position.  It has some surface rust, but it is very solid and the couple locks in tight around the ball.  Everything works well including the brakes...although the old controller in the truck leaves something to be desired.  Old 80's model Tekonsha.
