So whats left to do? :dunno:

Some more small stuff on the truck.    Mount hi-lift and tool box.  Swap tires from 4Runner to truck.  Gather supplies and other necessities for the trip.  :headscratch:  cant think of anything else.

So I'm thinking of mounting my Hi-lift here.  Easy to get to, will be able to use center for storage still, and I will still be able to strap my tool box in.  The Any thoughts or concerns?

My weather guard chest will go up by the cab, soo that wont be an option.

what about sideways, like part on the wheelwell and part near the taillight at an angle.... also are you going to do anything anti theft wise? SC is a scary plae, lol

what about welding the mounts to the side of the bed? It might bubble your paint on the outside but it will keep it out of the way. Where you have it looks good though.

Mount it on the inside of your bed just above your fender on the side of your bed. :twocents:

what I do is pack all my stuff into the back, then figure out where I can stuff the Hi-lift out of the way but w/ easy access..

for me it was pretty simple.. just welded some 1/2" bolts to my cage and bolted it up so it doesn't take up any room in the back.

I'd go with the side of the bed but as stated above.. you'll have to weld and bubble the paint.

Or just bolt it right were you have it now, thats not a bad spot either.

it will be padlocked.

OK thanks for the Ideas guys.  back to the drawing board for me.  I did want to put it on the side but I cant weld, nor did I want bolts sticking out the side of my bed.  I guess I was thinking that I could also use it to tie stuff to while off road.

thanks for the tip shamb.

Probably just going to put it there for now.  This is just temp for the trip and I want a roll cage eventually.

Wermy, that's not gonna be easily accessed if you dent your tailgate and can't open it... and if all your camping gear is stacked on top of it  :gap:

are those the tires your gonna run on the trail?  If so I hope you have a spare.

Rocksurfer

Mount it to the inside of the tailgate, FFC is right about it getting buried under stuff but if it is on the inside of the tailgate when you open it, it will be sitting right there for you.

So my original plan was to tow my rig up there so I could beat the ever living crap out of it, and try to blow up my piece of :pokinit: Attarco engine (I hate this thing and it is time to go).  But now I will be praying I make it there and back in my yota.

It's amazing what a set of wheels and tires will do!   Some guy actually said Bad :moon: about my truck as I was pulling out safeway this morning.  haha.    Of course now the 4runner looks gayer than ever with the stock chrome wheels  :ha_ha:

All the big stuff is done.  I'm happy with the way things are looking, feeling, running.  :yesnod:  Except for the piece of engine, all is good.   some more supplies from Orchard, and a test packing this afternoon.

Almost ready.  :woohoo:
