Well I felt a little spontaneous last night. So I decided to take the rest of the spray can for the almond colored valve cover, and paint over the blue stripes on at least one side of my chinook before the can ran out what do you guys think? :dunno:

I just painted over the blue stripe,  the white surrounding area is still original tired-looking paint

With these things becoming more popular to build/restore I think we should have a section of the forum dedicated to the 'Yoterhome".  It could have builds, tech and other sections related to restoring the camper portion. I have a buddy up here in MT that just got one and is planning a 3.4 swap and SAS on a 2WD frame.  These things are the next fresh thing for Toyota 4x4 expedition builds.

I dig the the stripe. I think it ties the truck together better now. I definitely like that you kept the stripe though.

Thanks guys im diggin it myself. Im thinking though about coping this guys pattern. But with that "almond" tan and a leather brown. Eventually. But keep the truck cab the same.

I think his exact set up is sick. But  may be not with my truck. Already with the browns and tans going on.

But maybe just coping his pattern

Yes fortunate but unfortunate. I swapped my l43 out for a l52 tranny. I want to lower first and fifth. :dunno: trade offs. Not the worst that could happen. I was just happy to have her running again thanks to Mitchell. And get her back home.

And I have already cut out some of the tunnel for when I first swapped in the l52. So I might be able to just work with that

I have a old L52 that has what appears to be a goot top.  I can check it out a little closer but I'd check with Marlin and see what they can offer. you dont want to pay money for one that MIGHT have a worn or bent fork.
if so you can easily swap fork

Wow! What are you saying i got to use the actual internet on a computer. This tapa talk is sweet but definatly lacks some of that "marlin spice" . Thanks for the support bros. And ya been off for the posting for the past few day. Not much to post but by this weekend should see those 31's and new wheels.  My buddy in glen wood should be bringing them down.

However, in news with what Gloria (thats the girls name) has been doing this week. The lady i bought the 86' 2wd from. Part of the deal was i had to come back and help her move. So i did and found out her husband was a machinist (he past away 5 yrs ago) . So she gave me ALL his aluminum and steel scraps! So far what ive cashed in at the recycleing center is just over 1000 lbs of steel. 300 lbs of aluminum.  And 60 lbs of brass. Thats the most of it but i still have maybe 100 to maybe 200 lbs of steel and abs plastic in there.

I loaded all that in the chinook. I will probably never do that again. But it is a good feeling knowing that she was able to do it without a challenge. Granted I never took her past 45 maybe 50 mph and never beyond 3200 rpms. You could feel the weight but there was no feeling of a struggle. :greengein:

well boys, sad day but. my buddy in glennwood didnt follow through, and well... no new rims and no new tires.  :shake_head: for Gloria. but i did take my memorial day to clean out the camper from all the recycling garbage, unfortuneatly there was no where near me who recycled abs plastic...  :smack: and boy did i have a bunch. itll probably be carried off in the trash truck tomorrow. . and also last night got myself a a little 2wd fun. this thing is so much fun, to whip around. probably goin to be a back woods rally truck.  :gap: . also got myself a 71' honda CL350 bike to fix up a bit, and have to pull behind the chinook for traveling.   :yesnod:
