Now that the buggy is a thing of the past I see a diamond plate roof in the Willys future.

Also got the exhaust stack cut down and a hole cut in the inner fender for it. I decided not to have it on the outside of the body to get smashed.

After the nap!, I got the exhaust tacked together. Before that we got the last of the paint work done. The dash has been repainted and the windshield frame is painted along with the tunnel.

Schweet!  Strap a turbo on it and turn up the injection pump so it smokes a little!!!

I plan to turbo it later, infact I have the turbo, but no exhaust manifold for it. That I will have to build. I went with 3" exhaust now for the turbo when I get time to install it.

What do you know about injection pump modification's? This thing is weird because it is throttled by vacuum and has a throttle valve. I want to remove the throttle valve and connect the pedal to the pump when I do the turbo. I am also thinking Jake brake.

My knowledge of injection pumps is pretty limited.  From what I know, theres a "metering" screw on pretty much all pumps that determines the rate at which fuel flow will increase proportional to throttle input.  (does that make sense?)  If you were to monkey with that screw, the pump will allow more fuel flow to compensate for altitude, timing setups, and/or positive manifold pressure.  I've only been learning about diesels since I bought my Ford in October of last year, so don't quote me on any of this....all I really know is that diesels are cool.  They're cooler with a turbo, and coolest when they haul ass AND dump black smoke outta the pipe!

Um...stuff is falling off the Mammoth!!!!
Looks good!

Yea, that was the paint sticks I used to shim up the pipe before welding it so there would be clearance when I finished. I forgot to pull them out, no biggie they are out now.

I stopped at the parts store today and did some research on brake parts. Seems that Isuzu 4x4 pickups in 1989 and up have rear disk brakes. They also don't use a drum inside the rotor for the E brake, they have a caliper that works off a cable to squeeze the rotor. I ordered the calipers and picked up the rotors. The rotors are a little smaller outside dia. but have the same lug pattern. When I see the calipers I will know what they look like. If this works I won't have to put the rotors behind the axle and I will have an E brake!

Now before you run out and buy rotors and calipers, I machined the axles down to fit into the hat of the Toyota front rotors before I found out the front calipers will hit the wheel. :rivers:  This is why they have to go on the back of the axle. I don't have any stock axles to get the measurement of the max dia of the flanges to see if they fit inside the Isuzu rotors without machining. If this work I will do a write up on this and offer any custom parts needed to do this conversion.
