You ever have those days where you wish you would have just stayed inside and not worked on your project?   yea... this was one of those days.. seemed like things weren't going as planned... i did however get all lines hooked up to the steering, got the shaft installed... radiator.. hoses.. airbox.. lines... ect.... i gotta redo the shackles ( don't ask... ) but they're on for now... i'm going to paint the shock hoops tomorrow and fill everything with fluid (power steering, axles, brakes) ... then i'll move on to mounting the shock hoops and pulled my t-case out... prep'n for the duals... once the duals are installed i'll be able to measure for drivelines.

Oh I scored some Bilstein 5150's that I should have on Tuesday that'll be going on the back..still undecided on the front.. i'm torn between those rancho's and a set of 7100 bilsteins... just really don't want to spend that much money on shocks right now... we'll see..

Due to recent events i've decided to pull the axles for an IFS setup off a ford fiesta, make it 2 wheel drive, no lockers, bald 28" tires and TON's of stickers (I heard it helps with traction)

I've been told by many this is the new go-to upgrade so I can run the Rubicon safely.

not much for today, went and picked up coolant, gear oil, power steering fluid and some paint... filled the radiator, got the steering completely finished. started it up for the first time in months.... kicked over first crank even after sitting for so long. I'm going to gravity bleed the brakes tomorrow... then off to collecting parts again... really all i need is front shocks, drivelines and duals installed... then it'll be ready... i'm going to order rock sliders sometime this week as well...

wanna get a trip to fordyce in soon  :crossed:

Got my rear shocks the other day, front's should be here on the 13th according to USPS.... didn't work it it much this week/weekend.. my wife elected me for another project.. been building my daughter a "castle bed" with stairs, rock wall and a slide... two days later it's almost done.... should have it finished tomorrow then i'll have time to spend on the rig again.

In the mean time I still need to order a dual t-case x-member, rock sliders.. and drivelines... once the duals get installed.   :ack:

life/work has consumed me for awhile now and it's starting to get irritating that the rig isn't done yet so i'm going to bite the bullet and take it into a reputable shop to have it finished... just needs a few little things done... shock hoops, shocks installed, duals gone through, 4.7 installed and drivelines.. which I already have.... i pretty much have everything just gotta slap it together.

it will be done SOON even if I have to take the easy road and pay someone else to do the light work   :puke:  :shake:

J&M Off-Road in Grass Valley are really good. Also in GV is http://www.4x4labs.com/ . Just thought I'd throw that out there if you need some options for a good shop to help you get your rig finished up.

First day off, gonna try and sneak into the garage and get it driveable so I can either cruise down to Sac or atleast drive it up on a trailer for the trip.

Drove the runner today and took my daughter for a ride. She loved it which is awesome!

Suspensions WAY to soft in the rear, really hoping the shocks help.. if not i'll be adding some leafs for sure.

Should be going to get duals and shocks installed this coming up week.

Ordered some much needed parts from marlin and the crew and they should be here tomorrow... paying standard shipping and getting them next day = Marlincrawler Priceless. Gotta thank Marlin and the crew for being on top of things over at the shop, certainly appreciate it!

I will have pics posted once it gets back home.

No reason why I shouldn't be driving it home next week!

Boy do i feel your pain.  I am in the same boat, was hitting my build hard, then bammm, life caught up and forced the runner deep in the garage.  Just now, after a year and a half, resurrected it and am starting the process up again.  Taking some time to get back into the build mentally too, forgot alot of what/how I was doing it.
Stoked to see this almost on the trails.  Early Congrats.
