Alright fella's.. i'm going to pick it up tomorrow. I will post pictures when I get it home, planning on getting some sliders and fixing the front bumper when it comes home. But atleast it'll be on the road and I can wheel it.

As soon as I get another shifter for the T-case

John if you do let me know, i've been looking but coming up short. I need the shifter w/ the smaller base plate. It's like 3 5/8"x 1 5/8"

As far as sliders, either gonna go the Marlin route or have someone build some, i'll just weld 'em up. I kinda like keiths tapered slider idea.

It did good on the ride home from Sac, only thing I noticed is it makes a loud clicking sound when I turn.. sounds like it's coming from the back which is odd... both axles are completely rebuilt.. maybe somethings hitting.. i dunno..

I'm thinking about hitting Fordyce the weekend after July 6th if anyone's interested in towing me home

 I f*cking hate CA smog laws.. so $140 later it passed smog but will barely idle, won't go over 50 mph and feel's like it's running on 3 cylinders.. so now I have to figure out wtf they did and change it back to the way it was.

Frustration!   

Anyone know what kinda torque's suppose to be on the 30mm nut that holds the flange on the t-case?  I can't get it to budge with a 24" breaker bar so I haven't put the front driveline on yet.

Get me some measurements bolt hole to bolt hole on center for the shifter. I'll look at mine and make sure it will work for you.

Turn the distributor cap back up, they probably turned that down. They have done that to me before.

Also just bolt up the driveline and drill the flange out your self. I did that on my tcase.

John I think I located one from socaltoy just waiting for him to get back to me. Keith I already bought a triple drilled flange from trail gear so I figured i'd use it. Gonna mess with the distributor today and see how that goes.

I need to buy a new torch, looking at this cheap alternative to victor from northern industrial, also gonna grab some sliders from addicted offroad.

My new impact couldn't touch that 30mm nut, I put my 1" rachet on there and was actually moving the truck backwards in gear with the wheels blocked!!  the nut WILL NOT BUDGE.. i may have to just heat it up and force it off or cut it...

cutting it makes me nervous though.. i don't want to f*ck the shaft up.

Getting a new timing chain and dist gear     fml... it never ends.

So I pick the 4runner up yesterday and it's stuck in 4low, can't get the t-case to shift. Pulled the shifter out and got it manually in 2wd.... of course they denied ever touching the shifter even though 1/4 tank of gas is gone. Thankfully I had a brand new shifter at home.. swapped it in and it's all good. The drive home doing 25-30mph wasn't very fun but whatever.

Now I have to find another shifter or just buy a rebuild. I'm thinking about running the busted shifter on the crawl box since it just had to go into hi/low it should work.

My garage is a cluster f*ck right now as well.. so that's todays mission.

Pulled it into the garage, now waiting for some extra cash to finish a few little things.

All in good time i suppose... I'm going to put the driveline on it tomorrow.. gotta order some bolts.. lost most of the ones I had but i'll have enough to get it together.

what bolts do you need, driveline?

Yea I just need two actually, the 14mm fine thread with nuts and locking washers. I put my driveline on today and put the shifters in for the duals. It shifted fine.. drove it down to a spot where i could flex it out a little and see if anything rubs/hits. Has great flex, hits a little on the rear.. nothing major but when I got back on the road it wouldn't go into 2wd again.. hmm... so I messed with it for awihle and just couldnt get it to go. Drove it home in 4 wheel high... got it in the garage and it went back into 2wd..

kinda stumped right now.. i dont think it's the shifter because i swapped it out for a new shifter... i'm wondering how many different shifters there are for the sale bolt pattern?  I was under the assumption they where all the same... it's either that or there's something wrong with the shift forks..

It feels like it's getting hung up where it moves from one notch to the other on the shift forks (front the 2wd side to the 4wd side) so it's not sliding into the notch to allow it to move forward or backwards.

Anyone else run into this problem?

As far as your shifting problem...

I sometimes have difficulty shifting into 2wd if the cases are bound up i guess.   Usually rolling a little and/or pushing clutch in will help.

Did you try that?

Yea everyone has mentioned that Dingman but it's doesn't feel bound up at all and rolling it back and forth doesn't do any good..

I may give MC a call and pick some brains tomorrow. I'm thinking a twin stick could fix the prob... correct? because there's no side to side movement just forward/backward shifters.. maybe i'm off? 

I'm thinking about driving down to prairie city this weekend and giving it a test, busy weekend though... we'll see..
