Stripped down the rear housing.. made a little jig that allows me to set the perch angle..the nylon ratchet strap holds the housing..allows me to turn to whatever angle..and jackstands holding perches allow me to adjust angle..now to get measurements off current housing....

I do believe that moving rear axle BACK...will come into play...with the U- bolt setup it was easy... I could tack weld perches..snug u bolts..then with 3rd member installed I could snap tack welds with floor jack..what worked for me was lining up rear diff with rear output on transfercase..then I moved diff 2° down..
The more I dwell on this..I may keep perches tacked..Jimmy up a u bolt temp gig..let everything rest on it's on weight with half my gear in it..then line everything up..and drop diff 2°...

Now that you will be moving the rear axle back (which I think is a great idea) does that mean some sheet metal will be modified at the rear part of the fender flare? Any plans for a rear bumper in the near future?

The plan is to push axle back... gain some departure angle..clearance body.. then Make rear bumper...

did your old bumper push up into the tailgate or was it just your pinion angle was off?

The rear bumper was on my 4runner when I first bought it..The first year I went to MCR..I found out that is was just bolted down..it tweaked my tailgate bad..
