Although you sure seemed to be putting your body into turning that wheel,  have you though of doing a hydro assist.  Although its probably not too bad when your moving. 

Are you runnign any kind of sway bar on that beast,  dosnt seem to have alot of body roll.  Im tryin to decide if I want to invest in one for my willys,  Suppose I should drive it before I deside huh lol.

Hey I was just reading through some of the old posts and was wondering if you ever solved your Drive shaft issues.   I have had to do alot of research on that du to excessive travel and know there are few options,  but i am considering going with drive shafts for a bailer or swather,  they have a great spline count, handle alot of torque,  and have a wide variety of lengths.  It might be a dumb idea but I havent found anybody who can tell me why yet. 

Also I was curious where you got that crossmember for your t-case,   I dont have a shop to bend heavy steel anymore and need something to hold up the new t-case

I knew someone was going to say that, I used the only belt groove I had for the supercharger. I need to make a two groove pulley for the alternator to drive the powersteering pump.

BTW, I do have hydro assist and love it.

No swaybars, I don't see any point in that. It's for off road use not for racing around on the street. Just have to get used to leaning around corners.

Wheels are 15x8 with 38 TSL's.

Thanks guys, I have been waiting for this for a long time and it looks like it may just do the trick, but there is plenty of testing to do before we can tell if it will stay like this or I get the TD27T from Japan.

I almost would like to see how the turbo would have worked. Maybe I could do both? JK

I am going to have to modify the injection pump so the skinny peddle hooks to it and get rid of the throttle plate on the manifold. It likes to go full rich as soon as the boost comes up and you have to throttle with the amount of air. That is backwards from the way a diesel is supposed to work.

That thing sounds GREAT!!!!  I know smoke is lost power potential, but damn, it sure looks cool pouring out of the stack when you stomp it....

I like your thoughts on the throttle pedal setup...it'll be nicer that way for sure!

You need a double row pulley on the alt. to run the PS?  No way to setup a "serpentine" style system and use one belt to run the whole show?

I made up a dual pulley for the alt today so I could drive the power steering and installed an idler pulley to adjust the tension of the SC belt.

After driving this for a while, I found it only boosts under hard acceleration where the rpm is run up tight. After getting into 3rd and 4th under a load it is no good (no boost till the rpm comes up).

I need it to boost under a load so it has power to get up to speed without winding it up tight.

I am thinking about giving the turbo a try to see if it works any better.

After that I will order the new engine (TD27T).

I have to know if the turbo is going to be any better first.

I have a good friend that I enjoy influencing him to spend his money on items of my choosing.  I once angled until I got him to splurge purchase a Kitchen Aid mixer on eBay during lunch for his girlfriend.  The great part is that he knows that I enjoy manipulating him and his money and I am still successful every time that I really put some effort in.  In this case I actually bought his girlfriend a cheap hand mixer for her birthday to lay on the guilt (she was often baking things and mixing my hand) and then finished up with a "great" online deal that only had a few minutes before it ended.

I think there could be more power to be had in that little motor.  If those silly ricers can get 400+ HP out of a Honda, I don't see why you can't get more out of that.  After seeing the smoke, it looks like you're still over fueling a bit, which means you need more boost.

well if you need a diesel go with a 4bt cummins.  Smaller 4 cyl. that is used in l/c conversions by proffits cruisers in CO and they run them on streight unrefined cooking oil
