its my understanding that superchargers dont help boost a diesel, like a turbo. like on a 2 stroke detroit they're supercharged and turbo charged but the supercharger only scavenges the air for the turbo :dunno:
Im an OG

what gears did you install in what case? v6 case takes a bunch of shims to run the SHP("4cyl") gears in them..

They were supposed to be "V6 gears" It says 8" on the box and the PN is TOY/571.

I wonder if they didn't just cross the numbers so they didn't have to make extra gears?

First one I bust they will get them both back.

I should have insisted on Yukon.

I just found this: http://www.precisiongear.com/toy8v6.htm

TOY/571 is 4cyl and TOY/571T is V6

Sorry bastards sent me 4cyl gears and I was dumb enough to install them in the V6 housings. Actually it took quite a bit of genius to figure it out.  :smack:

Mark,  find out what the pulley size for a gas engine with double the displacement of your engine,  and run that size pulley,  you cant over feed air into a deisel,  they wont ping

my old cross country rig was turned up to 600  ponies, with 40 psi of boost,  that beast would scream

do you already have the gears back in the axle,  or just in the carrier??

I do have the gears in the axles and have about 500 miles on them already. We drove to Jacksonville that Sunday and out to Kissimmee last Tuesday.

I have been able to get up to 62 mph in 4th and 5th gear. That's better than 55 in third at 4000+ rpm.

Still needs better pick up though, so back to the supercharger.

On the rear high pinion.  Randy's Ring and Pinion have a way of oiling the front pinion bearing.  Talked to a guy that has been running one for a couple of years and about 9000 miles on a dd rig and has held up just fine.

yea, but the only way to know if they will hold up is to try them. Besides I will have a spare.

So worried? No. We will see how it all turns out.

Mark will have to explain exactly what it does, all I know is it will connect to the engine at a couple points, there will be a shaft running through it from the front of the engine, to the supercharger, and a belt will turn the shaft to run the supercharger, :headscratch: something like that.

He got the box made to put the mold in, and we went to bass pro shop and picked up a big cast iron pot. He started melting the aluminum yesterday afternoon, he's going to make some sort of lift to get the pot from the fire to the cast, it'll be about 6-7 QTS. of aluminum in the pot.
I can't wait to see how it turns out :hyper:
