We were worried when we got to the springs, we didn't know what more it would take to get out or, moreso, how far it would be till we could find diesel. We would have gone out playing otherwise, or he would have anyway.

ANYHOO...here are the latest...we got the roll cage painted MrW got the brake line and gas line hooked up, and he got started on finishing up the floor. I think that is all we need to do to be able to go out tomorrow. Short of installing the 2nd transfer case.

Life is like a bowl of beer flavored chocolate covered dog turds.. it makes no sense. :pokinit:

Where is the Mammoth?

How the Mammoth came to be

Nice!!!! I talked to Adam, we may crash the party! I wanna see if your Willy is longer than my black... nevermind that sounds dirty.

Hey Mark, while your waiting on the other case how about seeing what it will take to make that adapter work on Nissan cases? Tat piece looks so simple, if you could create a machine to transfer your knowledge into my head for temp use I would work on that.
Lator....
Nissan's need Marlin too. Won't you help?

Have you thought about plating the frame?
It will greatly increase the strength over that weld.

I was wondering about that frame weld, is it sleeved or just but welded? The plate would probably be good either way

I did not sleeve it, but used an 1/8" gap to make sure it was 100% through. All the welds on the frame are like this and have been through hell without any problems. If I plate it it will not flex the same and may cause cracks next to the plate. I did not grind the welds to keep from weakening them. I may put a diamond plate over them, but feel this may just be over kill. The frame is already about 3 times stronger than stock.

All the cage joints are sleeved.

That sounds like it should be strong, but I've always liked the idea of some sort of plate over a weld like that one.

Has plenty of torque in low, but has trouble getting up to speed on the hwy and when tire speed is needed in the mud it won't cut it.

I lengthened a 2 ton winch truck and did not plate the frame no problems so far and that was almost 6 years ago, almost every time they use the truck they rare up the front end about a foot off the ground and it has not broken yet, and WM appears to be a mch better welder than me. he won't have any problems.

It's Turbo Time

No lie, I started taking off the manifolds to install the turbo. I figured that I should at least give it a try before going and doing an engine swap.

The superchager is just too big and is not sized for this engine. There was also way too much to getting it to work.

Now on to making a custom exhaust manifold to attach the turbo to and start plumbing it in.
