I guess I was right the 1st time.
I do remember you talking bout a  anti wrap bar last year at the round up.

jrock

I was talking about one because my truck lurched so much I thought the rear was wrapping badly. I found that it was a combination of my rear Detroit, my motor and trans mounts, poorly tuned engine and a pinched exhaust :P

I will tap the box and do everything else on tuesday.

I'm picking up a 3vze on Monday so I can get my Runner running :)

Death wobble like a champ. Now, I have 5* caster and everything else checks out. I have had 8oz up to 32oz and nothing cured it. I'm pulling the lead BBs and trying airsoft. Higher speeds, 65mph, truck does ok but wobbles from 35-60mph.

Tires are a pain :(

crazykooter

What are you torquing your knuckle studs to ?

Opened the restrictor on my steering pump to 11/64", about 1/16". Above 1500 rpm the box and the ram are very closely matched now. Ill have it on the road tomorrow.

Add pads and handles to my half doors, make spring clamps for my rear springs, make more money, add better rock lights, make some more money :)

Possibly send my injectors to Witch Hunter and have them cleaned.

jrock

So I'm just about stumped on this little tire shake/death wobble problem. I now have 8oz of airsoft BBs in the front tires and I have a wobble at 30-60, worst at 45-55. I get up to 65 and the wobble is gone but the truck still shakes a little. I'm not sure if it's the tires being out of balance or something like the alignment being wrong.

The front axle was recently rebuilt, everything is tight, bushings are good, hydro is tight, new tierod ends, toed in 3/16"-1/4". I'm about ready to take it to a shop to have it aligned professionally. I'm also going to ask them to check my tires for balance with the BBs inside.

crazykooter

I think you might want to see if you can get your caster to 3-4 degrees.
Im thinking 6 is too much.

jrock

I was thinking of doing this. 3-4 was my goal but from what I've read to cure DW you want more caster :dunno:

crazykooter

To much caster can cause the same effect as to little caster.  Not sure that 6 degrees is to much but if you have tried everything else then it might very well be it.

jrock

I still think its the tires. I have done everything else minus cutting and rotating the steering balls. From what I have read 4-6* is good, and I have 5*.
