Just picked this up tonight.
Traded a buddy some parts and a little cash for it.   :beerchug:
we will see if i ever get the time/motivation to put them in.

By the way:  DAMN 4.7 gears got expensive.

Dingman.

oh and since i didn't post it here.

I drove down to my dads house 130 miles away for thanksgiving, and when i got there i noticed this.
Can't really tell, but yes that in and out tray is full of gear oil, from a hole that got punched in the cover somewhere along the way.

Which happened because of this.

There was a few big ole chunks i picked out, didn't get a picture though,
AND A TON of metal on a huge magnet stuck to the inside of the diff cover.

Ended up doing an axle swap down there, a guy who works for my dad, has a 1st gen like mine and had a spare dana70 he drove down to me.
So as of now i am running different gear ratios bettween the axles.

I had 3.54's and now in the back i have 3.07's with a posi!  :gap:

The guy said he would be swapping a dana 80 into the back of his cummins, and said i was welcome to his 70, with the correct ratio.
So i will be picking up that axle sometime in the near future, to do another axle swap, so i have 4wd if need be.

This is where i stopped so far.  Forgot how much fun it is to deal with that stuff.

Tomorrow im hopping to tear the case down, and install the 4.7 gears.  Maybe get the case back in the truck tomorrow or sunday.

News of the world! They are the TITS though aren't they, gives you a whole new outlook.

No matter how far you fall, the ground will always catch you

Dingman.

The only thing that is different (besides the obvious).  Is it seems like i can hear my gears now when i drive in 2-hi.  Is it because i lost my "quite" gears.  At least those little shim looking things behind the gear

Just read through your build. It's funny how many thing are the exact things I've gone through. I dd mine which seems to make for fun days and bad days when things aren't working correctly. Maroon 3.4 swap duals 4.7 build yota axles on 37. Bought stock and built bu myself. I've been complete and done minus body protection for a while. Wish i would have found this build sooner. Could have been referencing it.  :smack:

nice 4runner^^^be careful though the maroon ones roll over real easily, especially after a 3.4 swap.

Dingman.

False!!!

They only flop when you leave the stock rear suspension with lifted coils,
And when you ditch class with your buddys and end up going up some hill.

And that is funny. Put some dents in yours and ours woukd loon a lot similar. :gap:   i remember when mine looked nice loke that

Word hard, Keep your head in the game and if anyone gets in your way tell them you don't give a damn !

Dingman.

Thats one pass.

I thought about it and didnt know what angle or what would be best.   My blade wasnt very good either so i tried to get at least some grooves on each tires. Which i managed every tire like that
I might go and do the same on all the other lugs too if i go get some more blades.

IronClad

ahh yeah my head is way smaller. should have came and used it !
