Picked up a hysteer setup today, 1 piece solid chromoly forged arms, marlin tie rod and draglink and a pitman arm.. all new!

So it's sitting in the garage awaiting the IFS box  :)

That should take care of the basics on the steering.. i'm still contimplating ARP studs but I havn't even priced them yet.

I'll probably start working on collecting parts for the suspension next and a few misc things to get it to pass CA smog.

I haven't done that mod yet but i carry extra studs with me at the moment.  When I'm not spending money on everything else, thats one of the first things I'm going to do.

I believe it came from Portland, Oregon.

So who's everyone going through for ARP studs?  who has the cheapest price?

Thinking of running a Marlin 4" spring in the rear and a TG 3" spring in the front   :talkingn:

I'd need something around 3" of lift to accomidate that rear 4" spring to keep a consistant ride height.

So the parts collecting has started.

Tomorrow i'll be purchasing a new welder, chop saw and all the accessories i'll need for this build.

Pic's soon!

Hope to start progess soon as well but i'm not going to touch it until it passes smog.

I sheered 3 outta the 4 stock studs on the drivers side. I put ARP studs in and have never looked back. They arent cheap they are 9 bucks a piece. But well worth it. I just checked my studs yesterday and they are still tight! I put locktite on the studs and nuts.

I thought you needed to sell the 1 ton build to save some money.  You know i gotta give you crap man.

Yea I know i'm horrible!   I get a new toy in the garage and just get all giddy again about fab'n   LOL!

I emailed Kellert the other day but havn't heard back from him yet.

I am actually thinking wood paneling would be pretty pimp, I have something in mind... top secret!

So today I picked up a new welder, bottle, cart, auto darkening helmet and a few other misc things. Still working on a chop saw.

The funds are dwindling quick!  I'm terrible at this "budget" stuff  :D

Once I actually start tearing it apart i'll post up pictures.. right how I just have a garage full of parts and an empty wallet

:)

from what i hear those tg 3" springs suck, they are alot stiffer and actually sat higher than the 5" on a buddies exo'd runner

what?? where did you hear that? i heard those things blow out after a season of wheeling and go flat. shamb go with the marlin 3" spring
as for tires, what about a 37" irok?

Marlin makes a 3" spring?

So a little birdy told me about a good deal on some 3" Alcan's... i'm still debating if i'm gonna go that direction or not...  I don't want to go w/ a 4" marlin front spring because I'm not a big fan of the gangster lean and I don't want to have to adjust height w/ a block or shackle length.... i'm really trying to keep the truck fairly low... not stock height but no more then 3" of lift.... MAYBE 4"...

From what I've seen with the alcans I've been impressed.  Blackdiamond has them and swears by them.  If you have any questions PM him I know he'd be happy to answer any questions you'd have.

Go for the 3" Alcans and some marlin 4" rears. With the weight of the Runners top, there wil be no gangster lean. I am running 3" allpro fronts, and Marlin rears and am sitting pretty level.

Fixed the driverside window today... still needs a regulator but atleast it'll roll up and down now. Had alot of running around to do with the wife but I did manage to score some 30 spline longs.

The major things that I still need to get are,

3" front springs
Drivelines once I put the duals in
u bolt flip kits
shifters for the duals

I thought about taking a few pic's but nothing has really changed.. still just a pile of parts waiting to be installed.

why not just rears up front like all the cool kids were doing before they went links?!!

Because I already got a set of 4" marlin springs for the rear.

I thought about doing the RUF/63 combo but just went with 4" marlin/3" lift spring... figured it would ride better on the street.. I hated the way my truck rod and flexed when I had the 63's on the back.
