Fixed the small vacuum leak at where the wing nut (replaced wing nut) holds the top air filter cap on, backed the Idle up screw out.  It is now down to a ruff 900 rpm.
 i thought so. what sort of shapre is yer carb in?

:woohoo:   :bananasplit:    :hyper:

Drove it around the block at lunch.   Engine feels great.  I have more work to do now though.  Even though they use to work my brakes are shot, and I forgot how touchy that MC cluch is.  :woohoo:

There is a little more vibration with LC engine mounts but its not bad.

So my wheel Cylinder Blew!   brand new brake shoes soaked in DOT.  :haha:

Hopefully the cylinder comes out from between the backing plate and the axle shaft flange.  :crossed:

New house? Well thats always good. Dont worry, now that you got your engine up and running brakes are of little concern.

New place is bitchen.   just sucked when your part way through an engine build and the landlord calls to inform you he is selling the house.  :hahaha:

Passenger side brakes rebuilt.

OK, so its running strong so far, I have about 30 miles on it.  Yesterday mornings adventure scared the out of me.    A bunch of oil had leaked out I thought something big had popped.  Turns out it was only the Valve cover bolts that had backed off.  I spent almost 2 hours in the starbucks parking lot cleaning everything.  :haha:

After Market Guage Questions?

So it occurs to me that I have no idea how hot this thing is actually running since my factory guage has never worked, and that I have way to much money in this to not do something about it.    So what would be a good guage to run?  (VDO, auto-meter) what temp range?  It has to be back lit and tied into my lighing.  And what would I need for a sending unit?   Then where would I mount it?  I wouldn't be against an A-pillar type mount but I cannot find anybody that has one for an 84.   :dunno:

Any input would be appreciated.   :yesnod:

why not just do a SR5 cluster swap?

That is what I have, and it has never worked.  I have tried everything, multiple connectors, sending units, tracing for shorts  :blah:

I have the Auto-Gage mini panel on my dash 1.5" gauges. Backlit, hooked in to factory wiring, water temp, oil pressure and voltage.

check out summit online.

Special sending units?  or no?
yes. every gauge you buy aftermarket will require it's own sending unit.
