sounds like you could be a tooth off on the dist timing. make sure your choke is opening up as well.

OK so how about your vacuum lines? your truck is carbed, so there is a vacuum line going to the choke breaker. It receives vacuum after a PVS opens.(truck warm)

I followed the diagram on my hood, so i think i got it all correct.    Did your's idle correctly with this cam?     but you also had the adj cam gear, i didn't go with that.

yea dood mine idled fine. well...as fine as can be for a carb that equates to a 5gallon bucket with a hole in the bottom on top of my manifold.

something has to be off/incorrect/FUBAR/you fucked it up.

did you check for vacuum leaks?

Even with my cam gear, I set everything in the stock position, ran the engine and broke it in, and then after it was OK I pulled the cover and set the cam gear at 10*.

And yes, I'm sure i Fubared', fucked something up.   suprised it didn't burst into one big fireball.

Forgot to mention, its at 5deg fefore tdc

Fixed the small vacuum leak at where the wing nut (replaced wing nut) holds the top air filter cap on, backed the Idle up screw out.  It is now down to a ruff 900 rpm.
