I want more specs on your air system.  where please ?
I still think I have the parts list for the OBA system. Any time you want to look at it feel free to come up and take a look. If you go on FOTR work weekend you can see it in action.

OK.  So here is my problem.

Directions simply say "remove old cable observing how it is attached and repeat"   My problem is that it has never been attached so I have no clue.

It is supposed to Bolt to the drum, but there is only a counter sunk allen screw (inside red circle),  am i suppose to go buy a big headed allen to attach the cable end?  but wouldn't that potentially mess up the synthetic cable?

:wall:    I wanted to go get stuck today.

may i suggest a round Allen head or torx bolt

AKA Button Head....  Just don't abbreviate the Button part of that term.  :gap:

Wermz84

Haha!

Looking at that pic, I thing I would start wrapping it to the righ from the bolt?

any thoughts people?

right would make more sense.... i have always heard the first wrap is useless

Oddly, that bolt isn't along either edge of the drum.  :headscratch: But, wrapping it to the right side first would seem to be ok. The worse that could happen is you end up taking it back off and then wrapping it the other direction if it doesn't sit very well the first way.   :-\  :willynilly:

The first "wrap" yes, but not the first "lay" of rope. It's typically required or recommended to have a minimum 3 wraps of rope on the drum for any pull. But the winch has the most pulling power anywhere in the first Lay. Make sense?

There ya go! Their recommendation is different...I wonder if that's for a synthetic line VS. ...say...a steel cable.  hhmmm?

Wermz84

DONE!! :hyper:

Just need to tidy up the electric cable connections to the battery.  and tie it into the alarm system.

I chose to mid mount the control unit that way I have equal distance no matter what side of the truck i need to be on.  But I'm not sure i like it, sticks up kinda high.

Tonight I go to a parking lot and pull my truck to set the cable.  :woohoo:
