Yeah Red Dog and Chalk Bluff roads are two roads you can use to access Greenhorn. Its called Greenhorn though from its mining history; the place we wheel is actually the Greenhorn Diggins from the hydro mining days, but we just call it Greenhorn.

Worked my first gun show this weekend at Reno, NV. It was a lot of work but it was fun. It was actually my first "real" gun show (been to lame local shows, nothing like you see in Nevada though). I had wanted to walk away with an M14 or an old M1 but the ones I wanted were way out of my price range. I had been eyeing a Moisan Nagant at one vendor's booth the whole show and I watched the price slowly fall towards the last day. At the end of the show on Sunday I bargained with the vendor and walked away with a really good condition, 1933 Russian Moisan Nagant. It even has all matching serial numbers. I tried to take a picture of the engraving of the Soviet star and the date but it turned out like crap. I am reallly happy with it, its in awesome shape. Fires 7.62x54R and has a 5 bullet magazine (non removable). It even came with a bayonet for when the squirrels get too close. I have always been a fan of WW1/WW2 era rifles. Going to clean it later this week and take it out next weekend hopefully :D

I wonder how many people it has killed in its day...its almost 80 years old

Nah, it ain't bad at all. I've got '43 M38, and I barely even notice it.

My brother has a 91-30, two M44's, and an M38, and still wants more...

Don't forget to stock up on ammo, cause it ain't gettin' cheaper. :gap:

Nice. This is the start of my collection. I really want to get an XD45 next.

As for the ammo.... lucky for me I work for a wholesale ammunition distributor/manufacturer... so I get an employee discount on already wholesale prices

I took it out last weekend for the first time and you are definitely right, everyone who told me it shot like a cannon was smoking crack. IMO it wasnt any worse than a 12 gauge. It was fun though and for a 75 year old gun it shoots pretty damn straight.

Today was hot knife day at my friend's shop, started on a set of 38 swampers for my friend Kyle and his little bro started on his set of 46x14.50 XLs on military 20" beadlock rims. Lucky SOB got a set of 4 brand new, on the double beadlock rims for $700!!! Good to know people in the military....they were all unused spares

There was a custom engraving done by Anthony on his XLs but its not Marlin appropriate so if u want to see it I'll send you the link. Saving up for an Aussie, then I am going to have Kyle bend me up some tube to run from my front bumper to marlin sliders, and from the sliders to my rear marlin bumper.

Nice, that's what I've got planned as soon as my brother gets a free weekend.

And let's see those XL's...

New (to me) rubber  :woohoo:

Trying to find another set of 15x10s to put these on so I can run the Coopers into the ground and get a set of All Terrains. Switch tire sets when I wheel. If anyone has a set of 4 15x10 black 6 lug rims around Grass Valley, CA let me know.

MTRs correct?

Yup. I wanted to run 37s but I couldnt find any deals on 37s. Found these the other day for cheap so I jumped on em. Another set of 35x12.50s but they should be adequate enough. I had really only wanted the 37s for the extra axle clearance but its not that big of a deal. 35s have gotten me everywhere I have needed to go thus far.

I don't know him personally but I know who he is, he goes to my school. He is also friends with my friend Travis, I think I talked to him briefly at the Greenhorn clean up a few months back.

I wish I could roll with you guys but I am not ready yet to hit fordyce yet. I don't want to go up there before I rebuild my front and rear axles and get a rear locker. I am still rocking the open dif bull :pokinit: right now :(

You guys should have a good time though. take lots of pictures

NICE! Why did ya put the top back on? I love topless red heads.  :boobs:

Has your front bumper ever held you up on an obstacle? I have one very similar that I plan to setup for a friend. I have considered cutting on it some, but I just am not shure if its worth the effort.

Haha... We've had some cloudy/rainy weather lately so I threw it back on until it heats up again.

My front bumper did hold me up here and there on approach back before I did the drop box. On really steep obstacles sometimes the bumper would hit and prevent me from going up. Once I moved the drop box forward about 2 inches it helped out a lot. Now my tires in the front stick out almost as far as the front of the bumper. Havnt had any problems since.

corolla? :headscratch:

It's a tribute to my old 86 corolla I owned about 5 years ago. Beat the :pokinit: out of it and I never could kill the thing. I like to think by adding its emblem to my 4runner, its die hard spirit lives on forever in my truck :)

Going to Fordyce in just over a week (6/20-6/22). So I have 8 days to get my truck ready to go. Just ordered an Aussie locker  :woohoo: and my knuckle rebuild kit came in the mail the other day from AP. So here is the plan to get ready for Fordyce:

[  ] Rebuild front axle, swap third members and install Aussie
[  ] Build half doors (picking up doors this weekend)
[  ] Oil change: engine, tranny, tcases, f&r axles (with axle rebuild)
[  ] New dif breathers
[√] Trim gas tank skid plate to clearance driveshaft (it catches it after a while when flexing)
[  ] Dig out all my camping gear...

And I think that is it so far. Going to start working on the half doors as soon as I pick em up this weekend.

Yeah I am pretty pumped about it, just going with one in the rear for now I dont feel that I need a front locker yet. Just got done with my skid plate, so now I gotta run to town, get some grease and gear oil, and pick up my (soon to be) half doors. Then I gotta change my oil and get started on my axles, not sure if i will get done tonight, might start that tomorrow and finish the doors tonight.
