If they will leave me alone long enough and I can get my transmission done and in. I can get to them. Hope to have them done before Monday so they can start their journey back to your side.

Meanwhile I have to run off on a call again.

:slap:  :nonono: I ain't paying, you are.  :shake:

PM me your address and I will see who has the best rates.

The way it was boxed had to increase the cost.

Also is there a Greyhound bus station close to you?

I don't want to wait till we get there for you to get busy. I know how you like to wait till the last minute.

Besides, I had all three of mine setup in one night, so yours should not be too bad.  :crossed:

At least somebody is doing some work on this thing.

Started the gear change today. First took it apart and cleaned it up and removed all the bearings and gears. Threw away all the shims and welded it all back together.

Now I need to weld a cover over the opening so no pieces can get stuck in the ring & pinnion.

My guess is he welded them all the way up so the little metal chunks from welding wont fall out and ruin the ring gears.

I had a bad experience once with a welded diff, one of the gears broke and a tooth got wedged between the ring & pinion. The rear end locked up at hwy speed and I slid to a stop. All I could do was steer it so it went off the road at the right time as not to get in an accident. Ever since then I have always covered the welded gears so any chunks can't get into the R&P.

Also have you ever seen a carrier break in two from the twisting load? I have, big tires and a welded diff can cause metal fatigue with the big openings and they break, not to mention just any flex in the carrier will allow the pattern to change causing a failure of the gears.

I am done with the gear install and getting ready to package them up.

I had to machine the ring gear flange because the welding warped the carrier. If you leave a ring gear on the carrier when welding this shouldn't happen, but I wasn't worried because it ain't f'd up if you can fix it.
