We were able to use an IFS front driveshaft (I think it was a front) :disturbed: It works though

Wow that's pretty short. Won't be any room for a dual.

Yeah... I drove it today.  I did the hydraulic to cable clutch swap and it works.  I drove it a lil ways and it wobbles like crazy.  The driveshaft I used for the rear won't work since we flipped it (put the cv at the pinion rather than the tcase). So now I"m in the market for another one that I can cut up :disturbed:

Actually she is going to run accordionized transfer cases (for flexibility) all the way back and bolt it directly to the axle flange..   :hammerhead:

Won't the front driveshaft hang a little low? :gap:

Try putting the Dshaft how its supposed to be with the pinion pretty much pointed at the tcase.

 I tried that to begin with.  The CV side won't pull the angle from the tcase down.  I turned the axle so that angle is almost zero.  I guess a front '84-'85 driveshaft will do the trick.... anyone have one layin around?

You can take the IFS shaft apart and clearence it to get as much or slightly more then the strait axle ones,  search pirate if you can there is a good write up somewhere  :dunno:

is your pinion pointed properly ?  a cv joint is probably not  the answer. probably need a standard joint on each end since its so short..

ok you have other problems then and a CV shaft isnt gonna solve your problems..  id really suggest having a regular ujoint shaft made. if done properly there will be 0 to very very little vibes.

Thank you IC.  I tried it with the front before with the same angle and it didn't work.  However, if the CV doesn't work, and the stoopid bank gives me my money back, I'll be goin to the DL shop

I bet the CV shaft will work, just not an IFS one because they only get like 10* of movement

so far the only CV joint to impress me is the 49 degree cv from paradise driveline.  its pure badass.  unless you pony up for one of those babies   you arent gonna get as much angle as you could with a standard jointed sshaft

Depends on when "The other day" was.  I was drivin it around the parking lot of Showgirls on Auburn just testing the crossmember.  I don't know if Jeremy had it out or not.  If it wasn't there, then I doubt it was me cuz it can't go more than 5 mph right now... but it was rollin about 3 weeks ago and driveable and yes I was driving it around for about 2 months before that

Ok, got the new driveshaft in today.  Took care of the deathly vibrations that was goin on :woohoo:

Left to do before MoonRocks:

Bend floor so CV stops rubbing on it
Cover t-case with something (It's in the cab)
Make shock hoops/install shocks for front
Shorten front driveshaft 1/2"
Bumpstops :disturbed:

PACK!!! :beerchug:

wow this things really coming along and looking sweet.  A couple questions though:
Did you ever do anything with the rear springs or are you still running the big aluminum blocks?  How is the low range with that t-case tranny combo?  and dang I forgot the others but you need some rock sliders now

I'm heading up to Sac Thursday evening and goin from there with some friends of mine.  IF I take the Amigo (Depending on whether or not I find a tow rig), then I will be driving and towing the Amigo up.  If I don't find a tow rig, then I will be riding with some friends.  The plan is to leave Livermore around 8pm, stop in Sac and get their rigs, and go from there :crossed:

Well thanks

I am still running the stock Amigo rears with an AAL, however, I have swapped in some steel blocks and a toyota rear end, new thirds with new gears.  The tranny/tcase combo so far is doin pretty well crawling... I just gotta get used to the new clutch set up :disturbed: Rock sliders are on my to do list, but not priority.  Now that the new driveshaft didn't work, my priority is finding a new CV, gettin the old one rebuilt, or just lookin for a new driveshaft.
