Have you see the new RED CRAWLERS??

WWW
« on: August 22, 2007, 03:25:55 PM »

We would like to reassert the fact that Marlin Crawler does not:

  • Sell, Resale, Wholesale, or Distribute Trail-Gear, Inc. Parts, Components, Kits, Units, Merchandise, or Services

Marlin Crawler does not:

  • Sponsor or Cater Trail-Gear, Inc. Events, Practices, Groups, or Meetings

Marlin Crawler has not:

  • Purchased anything from Trail-Gear, Inc. for a VERY LONG TIME

Marlin Crawler has not:

  • Sold anything from Trail-Gear, Inc. for a VERY LONG TIME

When the acquisition deal fell through in the winter of 2005, Marlin Crawler has strived to get as far away from Trail-Gear, Inc. as possible. Due to our large ordering capacity, we did receive remaining parts on order from the parent company of Trail-Gear, Inc. for a time after this.

If ANYONE tells you that Marlin Crawler, Inc. is selling or carrying Trail-Gear, Inc. parts or merchandise,

or

If ANYONE tells you that Marlin Crawler, Inc. has the same parts as Trail-Gear, Inc.,

or

If ANYONE tells you that Marlin Crawler, Inc. is still buying parts from Trail-Gear, Inc.,

or

If ANYONE tells you that Marlin Crawler, Inc. services are the same as Trail-Gear, Inc. services,

MARLIN CRAWLER, INC. IS NOT, ARE NOT, AND HAVE NOT BEEN DEALING WITH TRAIL-GEAR, INC.. Marlin Crawler DOES NOT sell Trail-Gear, Inc. parts, and Marlin Crawler's parts are NOT THE SAME as Trail Gear parts!

Marlin Crawler, Inc. and Trail-Gear, Inc. are two separate non-related and non-affiliated California Corporations.

Thankyou
BigMike

Yes, today a customer asked us if we have any Trail-Gear parts, and when told no, he claimed that Trail-Gear informed him that our parts are the same as theirs.

This is not true.

It's just sad!  The problem with all of this is, it'll never end.  It's been 2+ years and it has been non-stop.  Just when you think the dust has settled, there is more problems!  I'm soo sick of this.  They seem to be doing good in sales, isn't that enough?  There is more than enough business for everybody!

It really is sad. 2 years and we still have people who believe that Marlin Crawler and Trail-Gear are one in the same. We currently have many of the local crowd who believes that we purchase all of our products from them. I hear comments on a daily basis about this. I have noticed a large amount of our local walk in disappear. Why? I could understand if quality and customer service was an issue. But when I get the "well its the same stuff but cheaper" or "So does marlin really buy all of his parts from Trail-Gear" I feel that these misleading statements have effected our business in a negative way. I'm not accusing anyone or any company of wrong doings with these commits. Where all these rumors came from is unknown but the damage is still being done. The purpose of the thread is to try a lay to rest the "rumors" that are still present after the failed business deal 2 years ago.

UPDATE:

While out wheeling just this past weekend, a gentleman approached Marlin and I and said that his Marlin Crawler Dual Ultimate was making pretty bad noise on the highway.

So we did the basic run down explaining how with an increased number of moving parts there will be an increase in gear noise, but that it should not be louder than your tires......then we began troubleshooting... Do you have a CV joint on the rear driveline? How good is your t/case mount? Is the shifter base rubbing against the cab? etc, and this guy, who was really cool, said that everything is fine and that it just started making this noise a couple weeks ago and the unit had just been installed not too long ago.

Well, long story short, Marlin crawls under his truck to take a quick look, and it turns out that he has a Trail-Gear, Inc. dual case adapter and presumably Trail-Gear, Inc. low range gears as well because the gentleman had these parts ordered and installed at the same time by a non-Marlin Crawler business.

Marlin said, "Well Sir, to be honest, this is not even my problem. You have a Trail-Gear dual case in here, it says Trail-Gear right on it"
And the gentleman replied and said, "Oh no, this is a Marlin Crawler Ultimate setup, it said so right on the receipt."

Therefore, this is an all out alert: 99% of the *Genuine* Marlin Crawler Adapters and Gears are all sold through Marlin Crawler, Inc. exclusively.

IF YOU PURCHASE A DUAL CASE OR LOW RANGE GEAR SET FROM OTHER THAN MARLIN CRAWLER DIRECT, AND YOUR RECEIPT SAYS "MARLIN CRAWLER", THERE IS A 99% CHANCE THAT IT IS NOT A MARLIN CRAWLER

KNOW WHAT YOU ARE ORDERING, KNOW WHAT YOU ARE RECEIVING.

NONE OF OUR ADAPTERS OR GEARS HAVE ANY TRAIL-GEAR MARKINGS ON THEM BECAUSE

  • THEY ARE NOT MADE BY TRAIL-GEAR,
  • THEY ARE NOT DISTRIBUTED BY TRAIL-GEAR,
  • THEY ARE NOT MANUFACTURED BY TRAIL-GEAR,
  • THEY ARE NOT SOLD BY TRAIL-GEAR,
  • THEY ARE NOT RELEASED BY TRAIL-GEAR,
  • THEY ARE NOT PROCESSED BY TRAIL-GEAR,
  • THEY ARE NOT DESIGNED BY TRAIL-GEAR,
  • THEY ARE NOT WHOLESALED THROUGH TRAIL-GEAR,
  • THEY DO NOT CONTAIN ANY PARTS FROM TRAIL-GEAR,
  • THEY ARE NOT IN ANY WAY, FASHION, OR FORM RELATED TO TRAIL-GEAR WHAT SO EVER.

A MARLIN CRAWLER IS DESIGNED AND PRODUCED EXCLUSIVELY BY MARLIN CRAWLER.

THANKYOU.

Just a note on how to identify our product. All of our Dual case adapter kits are numbered and have Marlin Crawler stamped or machined into them. This includes the MC07, MC08, MC09, MC10, MC11, MC20, MC21, MC22, MC23, MC24 and many more to come. Our 4.70:1 gears are the only gears to feature our Total spline technology and spiral cut oil groves on the low speed gear.
