Special super squirrel shackles! All of that is coming off, The guys that built this first were 16 when they did it, Thought it was to cool back then. I really liked the dual stacks made outta fence post and flex pipe.

That's all good, we have the technology to fix it, What I don't know I am sure I can find out here. I really look forward to wheeling with them when it's done.

Looking better already....

I'd do a little more frame prep (grinding) before welding those on.  It makes a huge difference, especially with overhead welding.

Thanks I will, I still wanna bolt the springs to the axle and check my alignments before the welder comes out. Still a lot of sharp edges need ground down too, I hate leaving partial brackets hanging around to get ya later.

I just put the same 96 f150 2wd rear springs on my ride and so far I like them.
I didn't do any thing extreme, I am running them long side forward and ended up moving the axle back 2".

I still have to gusset up the front spring hangers and make a cross member for the gas tank and shock mounts, but the rear is looking good, Those are 36" TSLs it's sitting on just for fitting he has to get his own.

Back on it's feet, should be rolling outta my drive soon. Had some scrap plate laying around so I welded it on to beef up the rust prone spots. Gotta do some detail work and replace the gas tank cross member.

hopefully you didnt weld that front spring hanger on with the shackles on backwards ... is the shackle angle ok?

I have never really understood the boomerang shackles... Will mounting them backwards change the shackle angle? Isn't the distance eye to eye the same? So it wouldn't change anything?

I have always wondered... Is the purpose for clearance? From body mounts?
