I have decided to move my build up here.  I am looking for more criticism.  I want you to ask questions, and tell me that this or that is stupid, just say WHY!!

Anyway, If you read this it will catch you up on what I did to my engine.  http://www.colorado4x4.org/vbb/showthread.php?t=52147

Anyway, after building my engine, my Enginebuilder t-chain kit went bum on me.  The chain stretched.  http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=23780

However today the USPS (after manhandling the package allot) dropped this off at my door.

Thats DOA's timing kit.  Very nice.  Both sides have steel rails.  Hopfully I can get it in next week so that I can wheel my damn truck.

Looks like it has been a "repair" more than a "Build-up" so far.
What are your plans for it?

Phazertwo

Well as soon as I get my t-chain kit in, than it will begin.  At the moment I am a pizza boy, so it gunna be a slow build.  For now I am going to do a 1in body lift, rockers, move the gas tank to the bed, and a aussie locker. (in that order I hope)

I am trying to find a 86+axle, and am going to do IFS hubs up front.  Its still kinda up in the air on weather or not I will bolt the caliper to the other side of the tabs or use a spacer.

I have plans for a lift kit I am looking at marlins or trail-gears full kit.  I have played with pricing and bang for buck that just seems to be the way to go.  Reall when it comes down to it I am looking to run ~37's with 5.29s locked the rest is in the details.

Don't forget dual cases. :slap:

I have had to replace 3 t-chain kits from engnbldr.  Their t-chain kit SUCKS.  I have been trying to warn people not to use this kit.  I now get  my t-chain kit from PCI and they work good they have the steel guide and only cost 55.  How much was you DOA kit?
Anyway good luck with the DOA kit,  hope it works out better for you  :beerchug:

It was $275.  I wish I would have heard more about the PCI kit first, Iwould have gotten that one.  I was afraid of the cheap kits.

ya but atleats there not 3 feet tall

One inch is as much as I am willing to go!  after all it really gives you no performance gain.  However it is one more inch that I can sink my gas tank into the bed.

Anyway, 100 miles later the t-chain is great!  Here are some action shots!

DAMN my truck is ULGY!!!

And my buddys 90

It was a fun day!

I scored some diffs with 4.37's and a LSD, so hopfully I can get thos in soon!

I used to take shots like that with a tire way off the ground.  Now I wonder how I wheeled with that stiff ass suspension.

Well, I have not had much time at all with school and work, but I did get some stuff done.  I pulled the bed of too fix the frame and install a 1in body lift, and decied to sell the bed and do a wood flat bed.  Right now its only temporary, and the gas tank is also only in a temporay spot, untill I can build a new one.  The last plank is not on at the moment for easy bumper install/removal.  Bumper is mid way, but I got stoped by midterms, hopfully to resume soon.

Temp Flat bed

Nice cleaned up frame!

New bumper w/led lights (in progress)

Now everyone is probley wondering why all of this is so temporary???

because of this

going for a 94 3rd gen xtra cab on a 85 2nd gen std cab frame!  IT needs some paint, but it should be sweet when it is done!  It alos came with a V6 rear axle (wide) and a IFS PS box.  Scored the WHOLE thing for a easy $225!

Alright, it works! However I still can't change my avatar, and I am not sure why... Anyway, on to the truck!

Ok, so late in 06 my dad gives me a ring and says "there is a guy I work with that wants to sell his 92 extra cab loaded with options" Thinking its gunna be ~6k I ask how much. He says $1000!!!!!!!  I crapped my pants and asked when I could pick it up!  He said in a few days.  In thos few days he KBB it, and found its worth WAY more than what he was asking so he asked for $1500 instead, and I happily gave it to him.  It has complete records from the yota dealer since he bought it with 60k.  It got a new engine courtesy of the head gasket recall at 80k, and had 190k on it when I got it, it now sits at about 210k.

I don't have any pics of it stock, since I got it and went to moab in like 2 months!  Anyway, I got a bobbed bet for $100, and I put my bumper off of the old 85 on it, than welded togather some sliders, and put a lock-rite in it. this is what it looks like now!

The bumper

The sliders, and a nice ding from moab

This is a little side project that I have going for my truck.  I am trying to make a Oasis style compressor.  I got a Ramsey winch motor that has a 3/4in smooth out put with a key way, and the york I had laying around from my jeep days...(glad thos are over!)

Motor

York

I hacked my york clutch to get a tapered to straight adaptor.  I don't have a pic of this at the moment, and I did it a really bad way. I hope to get better pics of how to do it, and I will get a pic of it later and post here

This is the coupler that I got from http://www.mcmaster.com/

Coupler together

The mcmastercarr part numbers for the coupler are:
6408K77 for the spider
6408K273 for the 1  3/16" hub
6408K166 For the 3/4" hub
