Like this.  3/4 inch plate with a full pen weld to the 3/8's truss i made.  it is also partially welded to the tube.  looks like i need to make a 1 3/4 inch spacer for the ram shaft so it will stop it before it breaks my steering studs.

Doof

looks damn good.... one step closer to gettin this beast back on the trails

toy4x4ota

i see, are you worried about it just pushing back towards the center with it just being butt welded like that?  looking good

i am not worried.  but i do plan to make a small skid plate under the end of the ram that will also brace the mount.

kiyul4130

spacer for the ram?? why didnt you just have the ram extended fully and mount it up so the knuckle is 3/8" away from touching the stop or something. then it will go into bypass preventing it from breaking. i dont know, im sure you got it all figured out.

what :pokinit: are you talking about?  it has 8 inches of stroke and i am only using 6 1/4 inches of it.  i need to make up that other 1 3/4 inches with a spacer.  i did mount it fully extended, but even when it pulls in it can still break the studs.

kiyul4130

dude i dont know wtf im talking about brad. sorry. your shits legit, im drunk now. next time i see you i will grab your ass. please. ok. done, sold, :)

he mounts it fully extended. then when the ram pulls in on the arms it still has a 1 3/4 inches left that the ram can pull after the steering is fully compressed. he has to fit a spacer inside the ram so that it hammers on the spacer not the steering....
