.035 NR 211 flux core with a lincoln 175 220.  the gusset for the steering arm was welded with .045 Ultra Core dual shield from a CV-400 at work.  that :pokinit: burns hot.

Hyena

its just tacked in.  i will burn them in later when i get the right shocks and make sure they clear everything.  don't mind my sick spacer clamp i have.

Ok now it makes sense.  Is that whole tube solid?

Doof

is that going to be strong enough?

gran-it there really isnt much weight to it, but it seems not up to par with the beef of how everything else is on this so far...

:twocents:

Hyena

its not done, i don't do anything single shear.  kent had almost the same thing on his front.  all he did was bend the bolts but that was only single shear.  he made it double shear and it is solid now.

Duffil

just wondering...why didn't you run 2 plates out and mount it with the loop parallel to the tube instead of perpendicular like you did?

wouldn't that help with the shock shifting under compression/extension?

Hyena

i really just don't like mounting shocks that way.  i think it puts less of a bind on the ends like this.

Hyena

i'll be waiting for those new FOA 2.0 coil overs to come out and when they do i'll shatch up 4 of them.  $300 a pop with springs is crazy!

Yeah I'll be interested to see how they work for you. I've thought about getting a set for my buggy but the $2000 for a complete fox set is just not logical to spend.  However if I can do it for $1200 I might think about it.  Thats cheaper than 2.5 air shocks.

kiyul4130

looks like the coils are going to be really close to the exhaust.

You sure you not looking at the intake?

Reynolds

Looks to be about the same distance from either the exhaust manifold or intake. Fortunately, it would probably be easier to move the intake side then move the upper coilover mount out if need be.

kiyul4130

ya, in between the intake and exhaust manifold. it might just be the pictures though.

thats the intake manifold and the intake tube on the passenger side.  it will be close.  thats why i am waiting for the 2.0 coil overs to come out.

Shoot, the only issues you should have with the exhaust manifold side is when the passenger side is fully drooped out. That's when it will be closest to that area. I really need to do :pokinit: like this to my truck, I think too much when it comes to other peoples stuff :D

Hyena

went to pick n pull today and picked up a hardline for the rear axle.  $7 was well worth it.  also snabbed the banjo bolts for the front calipers with my 5 finger discount, but they turned out to be the wrong thread size :(
