It is such a sloppy fit to start with it will be a better fit 5" longer. You could allways just tweak the curve a little and it shouldn't show.

I could just start over and make a new one, you remmember I made this one right?

I am just going to cut off the front and make an extension with a new bead.

I do remember you making that one,  thats why I was curouse if you were just going to kick out another, or extend it, or widdle it out of a sold piece of titanium that you first dug up,  purified into a block...

Another quick question, are you still planning on linking the mammoth,  I went out of town for a while and came back to see like 50 pages added to your build, of which I havent made it back through to read, was also wondering if you ever thought of doing a airbag suspension?
Life is too short!!!   Do something with it!!!

I think it is simpler to just extend this one, besides Marlin signed this one and I don't want to mess that up.

Yes, I have been thinking of the 4 link and air bags. Still in the thinking stages though as the house has to come first.

How about putting a set of these axles under the mammoth?

He will need to seriously upgrade the LBC to haul that up the mountains!  Sooooo heavy!

NA, no ground clearance. Volvo 303 portals or Unimog portals for me.

How about some rear steer?  I remember seeing a post about you wanting to modify the Toy axle(I think), but steering Mogs would handle that diesel torque no problem.  This build continues to amaze me!

Rocksurfer

I've seen a Jeep on Unimog portals, the thing was a POS it almost rolled driving over its own shadow.

wheelbase my friend.

Rocksurfer

Oh it had increased wb, the portals put the cg too high with the big tires, I don't remeber what size but they were over 40's it was just too much.

All depends on suspension design and, if necessary, frame mods to keep the total height under control.  Just swapping portals under your current setuip will usually result in a high CG.

Finaly I got a second to get back to doing something.

I put some JB Weld over the center weld and around the tubing. This will help prevent any leaks that might have been caused by my welding that close.

As always, nice work Mark.
I wouldn't be worried about the axles increasing your center of gravity, especially when you build it spring under...  :eyebrow: COG will be the same as current, clearance will be great!

Are you done yet? :dunno:

So much for getting the paint work done this weekend.

I am making head way, but because I couldn't spend any time on it last week I am a little behind schedule.

I also had to go looking for a sheet of metal this morning because I had forgot to check to see if I had what I needed.

He had already started working on relocating the winch

and I don't see that the spare diff won't still fit under the fender.

Modifying the exo, meh, that is the least of it. Modifying the hood is going to be the next big task.

That would not be the Lantherian way, old body men never die they just stretch their hoods.

Another couple hours on the fender and I will start chopping up the hood.
