Dingman.

I can't for a little while.  I still need to sleeve my steering box bolts and I don't have money to blow going up there.  Stupid car insurance lol

What Mike did you fleshy patch get the best of you and you finally quit wheeling....  :booya:

Dingman.

Yerp...  :p

We went camping last weekend and ended up checking out bear lake which was pretty sick.
Had to replace a blown out trunion last week and my starters outta my truck at the moment cause it failed when I went to leave my house yesterday.     Gotta get that done and hopefully I can go up soon.   Gotta save my money since I gotta go back to college next week.  :(

Yea thomas. That bearing was the problem all along

Dingman.

Took these pictures from work the other day
This is a trail gear long slip kit that someone sent in to get straightened and balanced next to one of our drivelines from work (high angle driveline).

Both drivelines were sent in from different customers for different reasons.  I believe the Trail gear one needed to be straighted and balanced (which we couldn't do cause there was so much runout even after straightening it (long story)).   And im not sure what was up with the H.A.D one i think the guy wanted it retubed to a different length.

Anyways heres the pics comparing the two in case anyone had wondered what the differences were.

:dunno:

hhmmm I say... trail gear... Lmao :hammerhead:

High Angle... no questions asked.  :beerchug:

The TG one will work if you don't want a balanced DL. I think the HAD design or a square shaft are the only two I'd flopp with.

I did use to have the HAD 8" slip joint that Marlin use to sell, it was the same design as the TG one but obviously shorter and it balanced out good until I bent the actual male part of the SJ.

"bout tree fiddy"

Dingman.

There was just a lot of cheesy parts in the tg kit.

For example, no cap on the end of the slip and a zerk fitting right at the end.  So you cannot grease it, pointless.  The "creeper joint" that they use had a bit of end play too which wasn't impressive.  Don't get me wrong, i am no driveline expert by any means, but i just looked at that and it made me question the whole package.

Dingman.

Not much else is new but i got a new tailgate, so the po po will stay off me about no liscense plate lights.

Also sold my front driveline to a buddy and bought me some new gears.

Will be installing the gears at work soon and making myself a new front driveline as a x-mas bonus.   :booya:

Maybe ill actually be able to see some snow this year in my truck.

Dingman.

So went to set my gears up on friday at work and i need a new carrier.  I have two right now but they are no good.  One of them will not keep the carrier bearings on, they pull off super easy and the other one is all screwed up where the side gears are supposed to slide in.

Anybody have an open v6 carrier or a v6 diff at least?  Perferably local and hopefully cheap.

-Matt-

go to the oroville self serve im pretty sure they have a few right now.

Dingman.

I ended up putting mine in the lathe and used a knurling tool to rough up the surface.  It was a press fit after that.  See how it works
