Is there a reason you haven't put front axle shafts in yet? I'm hoping you go with the Longfield CVs. They're bangin'!

I'm with you on wanting to trash your axle. Keepin stuff pretty is  :stopit:

Looks good!

Shafts are being cut as we speak, but I cant afford the good stuff right now.  Im just gettin some 35 spline 4340s and spicer joints for now...  I think the axles are yukon.

But later on down the road Im getting the 300m spidertrax shafts.

If I remember right the longfields wont fit inside these knuckls...  Id love to have some though.

i could be wrong and someone correct me, but im pretty sure they will. the problem is your knuckles over steer them causing them to fail a whole lot easier then a standard knuckle would. yours turn about 60* right?

I'm seriously considering coming to Tennessee now just to wheel with you. Arkansas isn't that far away, and maybe I'll be ready by spring break. Granted, I probably won't be able to follow you everywhere, and some of that wheeling scares me - high horsepower/wheelspeed/tire size.

Keep up the good work!

on the yukons your getting or the knuckle itself turning? the longfrields bind up at 45* so people "stop the steering" around 43*. ya i want to get the longfields one day.

Its as far as my steering box and 8" ram can go.  But its also just barely clearing the tires lock to lock on the links and frame.

you can have them machined to turn sharper by Branik i think.  isn't suppose to weaken them or void the warranty.

I dont need it though... and that actually costs more than my shafts are going to.  Im kinda glad I couldnt get the 50 degrees out of these arms

Alright, drove it home last night, around the trails here at the house today and then back to the shop on the interstate...

Ive got weird steering goin on or I just need to get used to it.  It is extremely touchy and almost scary, likes to twitch back and forth...  And the sway just makes it worse.  I need higher rate springs on the back so that may help the steering some and I may actually need a sway bar back there but time will tell.  The only other thing I can think of on the steering is the ackerman might be off a little too much or the ram could even still have air in it which could delay it a little.

Already mentioned but stiffer springs out back, Im gonna throw chris's 200 over 300 back there and go for a spin just to see.

The brakes are still funky and Id like to try the toy MC but the reservoir on it wont fit under the engine cage...  It would solve my brakeline-coilover issue (almost touching).  So Im gonna see what I could do about a remote res. for the toy MC.

Unbalanced 38.5" creepies ride like they are on glass... hit 70 with them and it was incredibly smooth, but 20psi with an 8" wheel makes them ride on their centers.

The exhaust is far too loud

And for some reason when it idles down the oil light is coming on.

Look'n good Mossy - I really like the minimal tube you've done. And the tailgate contour to rear side bars tie nicely into each other. However IMO, the front end would like nicer with a '02+ clip on it. get to work on that ok..... :gap:

Anyways, I'd suggest a swaybar for stablity and it will be interesting to see your feedback in 6 months on what you want to tweak next after you get out and use it some.

Thanks alot man, I really appreciate it coming from you.

Ive actually thought about the 02-04 clip... everytime I look at boogers truck it makes me want to do it...  So that may come in the not-so-distant future.

And Im 99% sure Ill have a sway bar in the back but I wont be able to get to it before the first run.
