Small problem with clearance.  The shock can go up 3 or 4 inches but the damn tire sure as hell cant

well heres where the shock is but the other side cant droop all the way because of the tire.  if that makes sense.

And heres the tire...

Here is what I mean about the radius of the wheel well.  It will look really bad if I keep goin up behind the door.  You cant really make it round, itll have a big hump in it.

this thing is so sick i am going to have to say its my fav runner build and fo show one of my fav builds on this forum. good work.
i wouldnt mind rubbing my hands all over that front axel. no homo
got another 85 runner. build coming soon!!

Mossyrocks

just workin on the rear air bumps.

And, I might cut it off, cut out the frame, and outboard the coilovers as much as possible.  It just seems like with it flexed it will just pivot off the coilover as opposed to compressing it.

TIMS89CRAWLER

I love this build  lookin sick man..... I want coilovers soo bad  :rivers:

Mossyrocks

the rear housing is almost done.

Just have to gusset the upper link truss towards the back

Jordan7118

You've gotta stop doing such nice work, cuz I won't be able to afford both Rick's Tuki and your 'Runner when it comes time to buy them  :talkingn:

Looks dang good, man! Glad to see you're still making progress!  :beerchug:

Mossyrocks

Its holding itself up....

Its sitting at a frame height of 24.75" front and rear.  But thats with the coilovers threaded all the way up.

Front springs are my 250 over 350 and feel a little stiff but without the front bumper.  the front corner weights are 1750.

I used Chris's springs for the rear because mine were too much.  So Ive got 200 over 300 in the rear with each corner weighing in at 1150.  It feels perfect but its a little tall.

So I may try 200 over 350 up front and 175 over 300 out back.

Mossyrocks

Im paintin the damn frame tonight, DONE.... done done done.

THK Matt

nice work on that frame... you worried about that being a weak point?

a little bit, but it shouldnt be.  its cut right between the coilover hoop legs which are part of the cage.  and then there are two more cage mounts behind it on either side.

nice work on that frame... you worried about that being a weak point?

I wouldn't be to worried about it because most of your frame stress is before that point since you have a linked setup.  I'd be more worried if it was a leaf sprung rear because you'd have the torsional stress of the leaf springs when flexing.

Mossyrocks

Workin on the belly pan.  Ive got the whole frame done, just gotta pull it out and weld what I couldnt get to...  Then its time to add the plate, that I probably dont have.

It also braces the rear xmember.

And I also added another tranny mount, I dont think there is gonna be anymore drivetrain slop.
