I also taught him how to put in 5min of hard work and then spend 15min staring and admiring what you have done...

Mossyrocks

Well the High 9 is just a high pinion 9".  True Hi9 is just a built diff and technically this axle is called a 609, 9" center and 60 outers.

Mossyrocks

Well, the frame is back, sorta.  Im gonna plate it from the front to the body mount.  Things should start progressing a little more quickly now.

Busted a fuel line, could of sucked pretty bad.  But :pokinit: happens, gotta replace that now too.

Old frame capped, and the new piece all welded up.

Mossyrocks

I decided not to plate all the way out.  Its already 3/16 wall tube so I just went a little ways past the joint.  I really didnt want new brackets to land off center of the rosette welds or anything like that.

Cut all the crap out from under the headlights and removed the body mount.  Now I can put the steering box anywhere I want.

And here are the new body/ radiator mounts.  They definately sturdied it up more than I thought they would.  The fenders will have new mounts later on as well, so it shouldnt lose any integrity.  If anything itll be a good bit more ridgid.

I got tired of screwin up leaf springs so Im goin with a 3-link front and 4-link rear.  I only pulled the rear 60 to get regeared, Im still debating on goin to 40s or not.  Ive been running 37s but would like a little more meat, maybe even 38.5s.

Mossyrocks

heres one of the reasons

The shackle got shoved backwards and ended up folding the leaf over.  It got worse after this picture.

slabcs

How'd you fix that out there?  That's been a fear of mine for a long time now.

We high lifted it up and kicked the shackle back out, then set it back down and drove home very slowly.  1 week later went to morris mt. and bent the new one, but at the front of the spring this time.

The motor mounts are in finally.  I still have to box the top of them, but Im just unsure of what I wana do right now.

The mounts on the motor are from Ors and they are beef, little pricey but Ive got more crap to deal with and cant waist time making them.  And then I made the frame side.

Man Id love to, but Ive been working non stop so my ass is goin to the river to drink beer all day.

Mossyrocks

Got the motor mounts boxed this morning.

Full compression puts the diff 3/8" from the oil pan and puts the frame 21.5" off the ground on 37s.  I could move it forward a little and gain some but thatll probably be good.  Or even notch the oil pan.

Mossyrocks

got the lower link axle mounts done today.  And then the thinking process with the tires started.

This is sitting at a frame height of 24.25" with 3" of vertical compression.  If I move the axle further forward its gonna get friendly with the headlight, any more back and I lose oil pan clearence.  Im 50/50 right now on sending these back for 37 12.50s.  Id just like to be a little bit lower if I could and these are taller than I expected so Im thinkin Ill lose a lot of streetability with them.

I mounted one to see what it did on an 8" bl with air in it.  It made it a little narrower as I was hoping, but it also rounded off the top.  They may flatten out once they're broken in though.

unclejpl4x4

hats some nice stuff you got there.

what U did 2 the frame is what i need done.

are those the 38.5s previously mentioned? how would the streetablility be anyways considering its a comp tread?

they arent the competition compound, just the standard bias ply.  It wont see many miles on the road, its just that when it does I dont want it to bring the suck.
