the lowers are 41.25" bolt to bolt.  They arent at a 90.  At the axle they are 36.5" apart and at the frame they are 34" apart (center to center).

The main part of the rear truss is done.  Im gonna truss the rest along the back and then brace the center backwards if that makes any sense.

Workin on the crossmember right now.  Its gonna take a while, Id say Im about 1/4 of the way done with it.

And I braced the coilover hoops back to the frame so now they've got some triangulation.  I honestly cant move them an 1/8th of an inch at the top without the engine brace in.

those are the most beautiful welds ive seen!

I have a couple questions that you've probably already covered...

What's the rear axle? 60HD?

What welder are you using?

Good to see some progress! Keep it up!

the rear is a 60hd.  35 spline semi float with an ARB

And the welder is a miller 180.  Been doin me well

Great updates as always man.  I'm very interested to see how your rear end come out.  (kinda sounds homo LOL)  You just amaze me that you do all your cutting with a plasma and grinders.  I can't say I've gotten that finessed with my plasma yet.

Keep it up!

Semi-float? I thought 60HDs were only FF? Hmmm... Why did you choose the SF and not the FF?

I have a Hobart Handler 187, so I think we're really using the same welder   :gap:        I noticed the ground clamp and thought it looked familiar. My welds aren't near that nice though. Are you doing figure eights? What have you found to be the key to nice welds like that? Practice?

Sorry for all the questions  :outtahere:

The 60 has 9" outers with the big bearings.  He suggested semi float because the spindle has to be bored out for the 35 spline shafts and he has seen a couple shear off.  Not to mention I shouldnt break a shaft anyway.

On the welds I either do cs or just push it straight, let it fill, push, fill, push, fill...

Might as well webcam this crap

Its almost 3am, time for another pot of coffee I think.
