yeah, never got above freezing all weekend.  I don't mind metal work in the cold...but turning bolts gets tough.  Can't feel your fingers...hard to get them to thread.

It's alive!  ALIVE!
Got everything all cleaned up, vacuum lines on, new blue breather filter, etc.  Got all excited...and she coughed out a big plume of "oops AJ got some coolant in the cylinders" and settled into a high, but even idle.

Kinda forgot how loud it is!

Didn't spend any time tuning cause it was dark by the time I lit the fire, maybe this weekend between snow storms.

out of curiosity (nevermind the cat) what is above the engine bay?  What I'm getting at is maybe you could cut out that section of sheetmetal, build a little recessed area so you could fit a larger air cleaner and be able to run the spacer?

CTENG in KS

It would open the interior to the engine bay leaving me with a Santa Anna wind constantly coming through the dash.

You have a Jeep?  That's cute.... So does Barbi.

Rocksurfer

Yeah that's one of the bad things about the Ford's that long nose puts the air-cleaner right under the dashboard unlike Chevy and Dodge which is more inside the doghouse which gives you a little more room to work with. Not much but a little.

Still having issues as evidenced in my other thread about the 460.  I am blowing ignition modules.  Don't know why.  Perhaps a wiring problem which is a scary thought given the state of the wiring in that truck.

With all the work you've done to it recently check to see if you've pinched a wire somewhere and grounded it out. Plus since it is as old as it is there may have been a bare wire that wasn't touching that with all that work done now is.

That is what I am thinking.  I ordered up a manual with wiring diagrams.  I am going to start culling out the crap that PO's have installed and cut open the wire looms.  Time to inspect and replace what is in bad shape.

No, it is a separate fender mounted box.
yeah, we used to sell the :pokinit: outta those things over here, but the trucks aren't as popular as they once were.  I have several customers who still keep a spare behind the seat though.
