Cheezy re-man that gave me problems right from the start.   Don't buy Attarco.

But at the time it was all I could afford.  and I didn't want to F$%^ around with another Junk yard engine.

live and learn right? do what u have to do i guess.

Yeah pretty much.

Plug For Marlin and Angelo!!!

The star of the show.  Still just as sexy as the day it was put in.   So to anybody sniveling about the wait time.  It's worth it!

R151s are the same length as a G series...try again.

maybe he got the G54 mixed up with the G52 or the L model... :dunno: :headscratch:

That...or...maybe he didn't want to convert his front case to a top shift yet for cost reasons when he can still convert it later.  I think the only difference otherwise is first and possibly second gear ratios being lower in the R151. Otherwise the HD unit is built quite well!

I think at the time the 151's were alot more expensive.  Even thought Ive gone through 3 trannys in the last few years I couldn't justify the cost since I was only running a stock engine.  Checking the web site now they appear to be close in price.

Also, at the time I was under time constraints to make the round up. Soo i wanted the beefiest thing I could get and bolt in without any modifications.  Hence the G54 with HD bearings. :yesnod:

Don't you have to modify the Xmember when you do that?  :headscratch:  and cut the floor for the sticks right.

Well I tried to order new rockers and adjusters today.  but that totalled $290.  I'm going to have to wait till friday to order them.   Damn!  I wanted to assemble and clay test this weekend.   Another 190 for the Oil pump.   This is getting expensive.   :o

Only 7 weeks left till the round up.  Gonna ba close.   :scared: :shudder:

Plus i noticed some busted electrical connectors in my engine bay this weekend that I'm gonna have to fix.

THK Matt

well thats the answer i was looking for.... and from what i understand... its a bolt in application... they are the same length... its the W-series to R-series that you have to modify as the W-series is shorter... i think you can use an 86-87 R151F IFS Crossmember and it will bolt up.

Toyota.   I wanted OEM rockers, and oil pump.  Given the amount of money I have into this thing I didn't want to take any chances, and that is with the discount he gives me.   Probably overkill.

do it right this time... even if it takes longer to build.

and then it exploded after the heart attack.  haha.

I was driving it too hard considering the condition of the engine.  But I didn't care.  It was late at night, It was 5 days after the break up.  I didn't care, so i layed into it.  and now I'm paying for it.  :haha:   But I had decided long ago that I would run it till it breaks.   :gap:
