Someone stole my U bolts!  Oh well, while that stuff is on the ground I may as well replace it..

I think these will fill the bill nicely.  5.13's front lockrite, welded rear.  My wife spent the last couple days taking all the brackets off of them, shaving and grinding the bottom of the diffs down smooth.  Damnit I love that woman. :gap:

Oh and the rear suspension is re-done so now the truck is 3" lower back there...  The front will get re-done to match while I have it apart.  That'll put my belly at 23" rather than the 26" it has been on 42's.  I also sold my 42's and bought a set of 44's. :gap:

:hahaha: I love you too

What'll kill you is that I traded my yota stuff straight across for them....  Even delivered to my door.

Here's a bit of back story...  A guy on a local board had just traded a car for a bootyfabbed contraption of a runner on ton's.  He posted the axles for sale saying he was going to rework it and put it back on yota's.  I told him I'd trade him straight up and he went for it...  I got the axles and the next morning a buddy of mine from PDX drove up and traded me for the one's in the picture.  Both sets have 5.13's and high steer.  The ones I traded away had a detroit electrac front and detroit rear.  But the rear axle alone had 65 lbs of :pokinit: welded to it...  :ack: and the front had a ridiculous cut and turn. Not to mention the "custom" offset front shackles and the rear Z box's on BOTH ends of the chevy springs... It was also a dodge external hub axle which I'm not fond of.  So here's the runner you will get a kick out of this one...

If I knew who built it I would do just that...  The guy I got the axles from traded a car for the rig and the kid he got it from did the same... It was such an abortion it turned into a pass around sally that no one wanted to mess with.  It is getting my polished axles, AP 5" fronts and chevies rear with all that crap cut off.  It was a freaking monster truck, the rear truss/lift block setup was basically an 8" lift block. :gap:

These are 39.5's...

Crazy man I thought you were a strictly toyota guy.  Isn't it funny how 37's and toyota axles are become a thing of the past now.  Seems like everyone is stepping up to 1 tons and 42's bigger.

I'll toss a GM engine in it this next summer sometime with a 4.7 crawl box between a th350 and a dana 300.... See I'll keep SOME yota in it..

HAHA sounds very similar to my current toyota build.  I had all toyota stuff in my truck but after I pulled the engine out of the buggy for a bigger one I decided to put my "old" 4.3 into my toyota with a th350 and duals.  Then last night we decided to just toss the toyota axles and put in my 60/14b I had.  So I guess I need to find some 42's now.  LOL

What chevy motor are you thinking of running now?

I have a 355 built and ready to go if I decide to get silly again.  It was in a 66 malibu that ran a best of 12.26 in the 1/4 on street tires....   Not sure I really want to subject myself to that on the trails though....

I have always liked the idea of a built 4.3 on 'pane.  12:1 a bunch of head work and a custom cam would be stupid fun and a bit lighter to boot...

Who knows what I'll end up running..  I still need to get the axle swap done. :hahaha:

Brake lines are refitted to SAE and the GM master is on.  My wife spent a couple days grinding the old link mounts off the axles.  I picked up a 1410 slip and spline for the rear and the front has a yota flange already.

I picked up a brand new rear disconnect for $325 so I'll have the rear axle in place and get the driveline built accordingly.  The solid CroMo tie rod is being built this week too so that'll be going on when it gets here next week.  I've got a set of beadlocks coming from copperhead too.. They just got cut out thursday, I'm stoked to get them and of course I'll post pics of them.

When I got my 84 it had a 305 4.10's and 36" radials.  It got about 12 mpg at best.  The 350 I built was good for about 7 tops and it was carbed too.  That was with 4.10's and 38" bias.

This truck got 21 mpg once....  Long road trip with 37" radials.  Now it's good for about 5 tops with huge bias tires and a 4 cylinder. :haha:

The rear axle is bolted in and the brake line is hooked up.  Just need to get the driveline built and burn the perches in place.  Tomorrow is front hanger day, that's pretty much all that needs to be done up front other than the hydro ram mount and screwing the stainless lines in place.

Heck yea, the plates are 3/8" thick and  even though they are plasma cut they are still very nice.

Yet more progress....  I'll get some more brackets cut out for the front hanger.  We got the rear shock mounts figured out tonight so I'll work on those tomorrow too.

All that factory garbage front body mounts are gone and the frame is all cleaned up ready to build on.

Oh and yes the nose pick is going back on have no fear. :hahaha:

Also got the rear brake lines all finished up and ready to go.  Gotta pull the rear axle out tomorrow to finish the shock mounts but otherwise it's all done.

Sweet WT its looking good.  You'll love the new width and relative peace of mind that your axle are not the weakest link.  You'll just blow rear output shafts. LOL

:hahaha: I'll blow one then swap it out to one from bobby and never look back.  I think it'll be safe with 5.13's but we'll see how that holds up..

The width is unreal....  With JUST teh wheels bolted up on the rear axle outside to outside it's 81".  That's what my old blge to bulge was with 42's on beadlocks.  I'm still welding beadlocks on these wheels and putting 44's on there so I figure it'll end up around 89ish if not more....

Rimrock will SUCK.. :ack:  But I've got a rear disco so it'll at least be doable.
