Yeah Rimrock will suck now.  I can't believe how wide mine is now with the 42's on 15x12 (because of weld on beadlocks) with 2.5 b/s on. I just bolted on my buddy's 42's since mine are out on loan and I was like crap I'm nearly 18" wider than tall.  It'd be insanely wide.

Not the best picture but you get the idea.  Only an 1" is covered by the fender.

I measured the front width... with no beadlocks yet I'm 90" wide... Better than I expected honestly. :gap:

Yeah you're right there with me.  I'm not going to be running the tires that are on it right now though.  I will be running 5" b/s.  I want "try" to make it street legal.  After the new tires I should be loosing a bit of width.

gotrocks

Dude your rig looks like a land yacht.  What's your w/b.  Way to get it done though I'm sure you'll love having the peace of mind not having to worry about your r/p, axles or knuckle studs.

WHITE_TRASH

Yup it will be very nice to not have to worry about that stuff again...  I had Marlins 6 stud knuckles and I had just bought 4xlabs weld in conversion blocks for the extra 2 studs to avoid buying knuckles from TG and a full set of ARP hub and knuckle studs so I wasn't too far from being "strong enough" to wheel consistently.  BUT Now I'm going overkill so there is no worry in my mind.

WHITE_TRASH

:gap: I didn't have a 1/2" pipe tap handy so I welded a 3/8 to 1/4" pipe bung into the cover....  I just screwed a air nipple into it and put the hose on it... sheesh.. the joke is lost on some people :flipoff: :P

WHITE_TRASH

Yup!

Oh and a FYI if/when you go ton's do NOT get copperhead diff covers... Just spend the extra $30 a piece on GLO, BTF, RuffStuff, Balistic etc etc......  What a piece of crap to deal with.

We've been pretty busy today, Peanut put the soft top she made for the truck on today and reinstalled the padding on the cage.  A good friend stopped by and took some quick measurements for the headlight guard/mounts then ran home and whipped them out.  They actually worked about perfect.  Oh and the fenders still aren't attached to anything but a couple bolts on the cab...  I'll probably get around to that tomorrow and finish this project up.

I had to cut the inner structure out of the front part of the hood and it's still probably too high but I ain't about to cut that fawking core support off the frame now.  :shakehead:

Peanut also put some stickers on the truck that we've been meaning to get on there but hadn't had or taken the time to do.

This side was a fun time for her, the door is pretty messed up so the stickers weren't the easiest to get in the crevasses...   :gap:

We were, we just got bust getting the truck ready for next weekend instead.  Figured it'd be better to have it done for the big run than half assed for the smaller run.. :)

The vendor is fine, it's just that the diff covers and all of the parts he sells are flame cut so the holes for the cover bolts were 3/8 on the outside edge but 11/32 inside edge so I have to use a die grinder to open them up.  Also a couple of the holes were off by about 1/8" so they had to be egged out too.  The kit cover is a bunch of pieces you have to put together with no instructions.  Which I guess isn't that big of a deal but it is just a hassle, like the front cover has a hole in it for a fill plug.  You can either tap it to 1/2" pipe and use the stock fill plug or weld a bunk into it which is nice I 'spose but unless you have that stuff on hand you're screwed.

KYOTA

yeah I saw the beadlock kits he was selling and  :ack: at the quality of the cuts but that was awhile ago. the finished cover you built looks good though
x2 on the laser cut pieces from Ballistic or BTF, you dont even have to knock the kirf off with a grinder   my last box of pieces from Ballistic, I touched myself with them for a while before installing :goat:

WHITE_TRASH

:hahaha:  Yea ballistic makes some sick stuff no doubt about it.  I've gotten a bunch of stuff from ruff stuff too and I was more than happy with what I got.  A great product from an awesome vendor is something of a rarity these days....

WHITE_TRASH

So I realized that the front end just wasn't done right at all.  When I rebuild the core support I built it tall to protect the radiator... Well that meant the hood sat too damned high even after cutting the inner structure out of it.  So today I got to work redoing all the mounting stuff I had done.  I think it looks a helluva lot better now.

looks good with the sheetmetal on it and I like the little hoops around the lights too  8)

WHITE_TRASH

Yea I think it looks way better... Especially now that it's actually on right. :hahaha:

I still need to get the nose pic on there...  I'll see if my last two partial skinny wheels will be enough to cut the mounts I need... :gap:

Without checking back through all the posts since you rolled, is this the same truck?

I probably missed it, but I'm assuming you are going to be trailering this thing from now on. Are there any plans for a drive to and from the trail rig?

WHITE_TRASH

It's been a trailered rig for the last 3 years... I got my CDL so I'm not so quick to just hop in it and go anymore....  But yea there is a plan for a street wheeler real soon.  The more I think about it the more I am convincing myself to make the truck street legal again. :gap:

I figure if the fun buggy can be CA legal why can't my truck be WA legal?  It's not that hard really and I think the stares would make it worth while.
