$300
« on: Dec 29, 2003, 06:41:05 PM »
I just got home with my new toy!!!  Its an 81 4x4 w/ a fresh 20r 4 speed etc.  The only catch is it was rolled 2 nights ago by my house.  It was a VERY cold ride home with no windshield & the drivers door held shut with a bungee cord!  Considering its under 20 degrees!  Ill post picks of my new pride & joy later when my mother brings me my digital.
woohoo new buildup about to comence!

rolled on driver side to top when I drove by it was sitting in its lid.
it doesnt look too bad in the pics, but trust me the roof has anywhere from 1/8 to 5/16 thick bondo!!  I fixed the top with a BFH and a 60 in. Hilift.  took a while but I dont think it came out half bad.  I would put a real windshield in it but I think this summer its gonna loose its roof and the cab will be a walk through,  with a sammy rear seat.

the heater works real good just need to seal up the windshield so it will stop snowing inside while you drive!  and yes looks are not deceiving it has been about 15-20 degrees for about 2 weeks.  weve gotten over a foot of snow.  not bad for the land of sagebrush and coyotes!!

we went back up after work today to retrieve the truck but in trying to jerk it backwards the bumper broke!  not the bolts or the welds but the tube actually ripped and flew about 40 feet and hit a buddy of mine across the thighs!  I took him to the ER all he had were some serious charlie horses but they think he'll make it. :smack: So its back up the hill for me in the am to HiLift/winch it out.

dang white did u get it out yet. :dunno:
did it find a sink hole while u were out wheeling or what that sounds like kinda what i did yesterday. i took some buddys of myne out wheeling with me and my right front found a soft spot and just sunk. at 1st it wasent that bad but after a few attempt's at trying too back out and go out foreward u couldent even see my 33 bfg's any more  :slap: and the left rear was off the ground. thats what i get for wheeling in my street tires. :smack:
the pic attached is right after i found the hole and after i just dug it down deeper too where the tire was gone it was 2 dark too take a pic. :hammer:

That snow up on the hill is absolutely positively unadulterated pure fricken EVIL!!! nice thick hard crust with zero traction dry popcorn powder underneath.  you are fine as long as you dont spoin yer tires.  problem with my truck is the front driveline has yet to be built it is still in pieces in the bed.  yes I know I need to be slapped.  I was doing fine till my buddies decided to dig big holes for me to try to navigate.

Still havent fixed the driveline but yes it is out! We had to use a HiLift to move it up and torwards the trail filling in the old ruts as we went.  Then I hooked up to it and jerked the $hit out of it!!  I suppose most people would've been easier on their own stuff but Im stupid like that. :slap:  It needs another plexi windshield.  Guess I was jerking it kinda hard cause the windshild is cracked all over the place and the roof is twisted now! but I can fix that :_order: :flamer:
