So among many other things that I got done this week I built a complete new exhaust system for the truck.  Everything from the new collector back has been replaced.  Its nice not having any leaks and mice mandrel bent pipe now. :D

Its a flow sound from baxters auto parts.  Basically a rip off of flowmaster but its not as tinny sounding.  Actually has a bit of throat to it compared to the 50 series flowy I pulled off of it and its smaller.

It was either that or a raptor from flowtech but this muffler has a smaller case.  I have thought about putting a short glasspack in front of the muffler to bring the bark down a bit.  We'll see how I like it after this weekend. 8)

I dislike my flowmaster 50 because of that tinny sound. I was going to try a 60 series, but my muffler guy couldn't get me one for cheap. I think I might try a magnaflow next time.

:yesnod: I have thought about doing this as well, good idea!

A buddy of mine has a magnaflow on his rig and it sounds pretty good.  In all actuality I'll probably run this muffler for a couple months and put a borla in its place.  Its a smaller muffler and I love the sound of their mufflers. :)

I have never heard a borla or a magnaflow on a 22re, so I was just guessing what to use. I like how the magnaflow has a lifetime warranty.

Why does a muffler need a warranty?  If you bought a pile of crap muffler that is going to fall apart after a few years then you got what you paid for.  Buy a name brand good muffler and you don't need a warranty especially when its going on something that is going to destroy it such as a wheeler.

Hence I bought a $40 flowy knockoff and if it falls apart before I put something else on there I won't be surprised..  :hahaha:

Thats true. I did put one hell of a hole in my stock muffler, and this one is even bigger. I think next time I might do a glasspack into a turbo muffler... that should be quiet, and pretty cheap. I do like the tone of the flowmaster, until the tinny sound kicks in, and my toy is definitely the best sounding out of all the ones in my wheeling group, but I just cannot stand the tinny crap. Well, enough of this muffler rambling, back to the awesome build!

Flowmasters sound awesome if you have a V8! That tinny sound with a lopey idle makes it sound like a drag car.

Not sure if the frame is straight or not.  I'll know more when I start tearing it down tomorrow.  I'm going to straighten out the little tweak in a back tube before I pull the rest of it out...
