HOPEFULLY :crossed: we will be through that area before or after rush hour traffic, but thanks for the info just in case. But wait  .. we are heading for I-215 anyway, taking 215 to 15 to 395 (where we will NOT under any circumstances stop in Adelanto!! As per Rocksurfer  ) so is taking the 30 freeway a better way to go in general?

I grew up in San Bernardino (AKA: the arm pit of SoCal) I used to drive quite a bit between SB and Sacto when I was in the USAF. Now I live in Redlands and you will be passing right by my house (look for the Wabash exit). :welcome:
IMO from the 10 your best and fastest route to get to the 99 and ultimately Fresno (and also bypass the LA traffic) is to take the 30 (we call it the cross town freeway) its only 10 miles long, but again, you bypass the 215/10 interchange. The 30 ends at the 215 and you take it north until it merges with the 15 in the Cajon Pass. Now here is where I would differ. I would take the 138 west, which is about half way up the Cajon Pass. The 138 ends up in Palmdale connecting with the 14. You take the 14 north to the 58 west and then the 99 north. This route shaves 45 minutes to hour off the 395 route. :twocents:

Too late! We took 30 to 215 to 15 and it was all we could do to do 15 mph up that cajones pass, if those other roads were 2 lanes and as much elevation we were better off sticking to I-15 and being able to stay out of peoples way!  :yesnod:

I called RS to make sure 395 wasn't too steep and 2 lane, he reassured us it was flat and the better way to go then 15 to 58, which would have been way out of the way.

I have to say it was a really FUN ride! WHEEEEEE! :boobs:

Yeah but 395 is gonna kill it too at least you are not going all the way to Reno. that is a first gear affair with no load and a good turbo.

A little trivia for you.  :lipsrsealed: You weren't the only one to have a fun ride on the 15 through the Cajon Pass. :driving: Good old Pamela Anderson and "the video" with Tommy Lee was made in a limo through the pass on the way to LV. :boobs:

Mark doesn't think there is anything wrong with the turbo now, the fuel filter helped with the problem we were having yesterday, the turbo is just too small.

Well we're running behind but pushing ahead. We probably won't be in Fresno till 8:30. I suggested we could stop short but Mark wants to get it over with. And I agreed that is a better idea.

We'll have time to rest tomorrow some. OK well Mark will be working with Marlin but we won't be driving for one day anyway.

CARP! We just had to pull over again! The water temp and check engine lights came on. Mark thinks it was cause of that long climb up the cajones pass. :headshake:

He just checked the engine, he said the temp gauge back there is much higher then the one in the dash.

ANd we're off again! :thud:

hey Infernal! That's the way we roll. :driving:  LOL! Looking forward to meeting you again.

We finally made it to the Yosemite Trailer and RV Park in Fresno. We're 6 miles NW of Marlin's shop so we'll be there tomorrow, of course.
I'm going to see if they want help answering phones :yesnod:  :blah:

We're probably going to bring the LBC over there with us so if I have nothing to do I at least can hang out in here and watch some tube.

Glen, if they maybe have extra tee's for sale, if you ask real nice like, maybe we can be talked into picking you up one. Maybe.

Rockscramblers supposed to be here tomrrow.

We're watching O' Brother Where Art Thou on DVD. :woohoo: gotta love this movie!
