How do you like that 105* desert then drive up to big bear and have a nice balmy 36* in the same day? That is why I love SoCal.

Yeah, that was crazy. We were so hot in Calico, nice at night though, and we got up Big Bear and I see this woman in a jacket. We're like "is it cold out?" and sure enough.
It was a little too cold for my blood. It could have been at least 10-15* warmer and I would have been happier.
A little less dust would have been nice too. We could hardly see between the dust on the windshield and the sun reflecting on the dust from the vehicle ahead of you. NOt that we don't have our share of dusty trails in FL as well.
But I guess that is going to be the case if your trails aren't wet, and I sure wouldn't want to do those trails in the mud!! :yikes:

  :yesnod:

Well tshirts and jeans to fleece jackets under insulated coveralls anyway! And hats, gloves and ear muff head bands for me.
I was much preferential to Calico's weather then to Big Bears but I'm sure MrW would differ. I loved the cool comfortable night.

oh, and funny high elevation experience. when Mark went for the ride in the evening with RS I decided to make some biscuits to have for breakfast.
We were over 7000' at Hanna Flats.
I had a couple containers of those Pillsbury bisquits. Those ones you bop it on the counter to pop it open, but no sooner did I peel the paper off when POW, the thing exploded open and 4 biscuits went flying out onto the floor!
When I told the guys when hey got back they said it was cause of the elevation.
The bags of chips were all poofed up, and one can of Pringles popped it's paper seal!
Even opening the mustard would send a big SPLOOSH out of it! :haha: Craziness!
